One of the hit new game modes in MW2, is that of Ranked. In case some of you don’t know, Ranked is a new competitive multiplayer experience that comes with a variety of weapon and perk limitations as you engage in 4v4 skirmishes via game modes such as Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control.
Providing the same settings, maps, and modes that the Call of Duty League (CDL) uses, Ranked comes with its fair share of differences, where friendly fire is also enabled for example, making it a far more riskier game that requires plenty of precision, communication, and teamwork.

MW2 – Best Ranked Loadouts
When it comes to Ranked, having a loadout that grants you a nice balance of movement, aim down sight speed, and minimal recoil is crucial. The game mode not only puts you into a lot of different tight angles and spaces, but also requires you to move a lot, whether you are evading fire or sprinting over to a spot an enemy team is controlling.
So to guide you through which weapons, attachments, grenades, and perks to use, we’ve provided our top four loadouts we recommend to try out in Ranked:
MW2 – Vaznev-9K Ranked Loadout
The Vaznev-9K is arguably the meta right now in Ranked, and is a lethal submachine gun to wield in Ranked. When equipped with the right attachments, it will deliver that assault rifle / submachine gun hybrid feel and makes for an unstoppable force, even at mid-range. Here’s the loadout we recommend when using the Vaznev-9K:
Attachments:
- Stock – Broadside FCT
- Rear Grip – True-Tac Grip
- Muzzle – Lockshot KT85
- Underbarrel – FTAC Ripper 56
- Barrel – KAS-1 381MM
Lethal & Tactical:
- Semtex Grenade
- Stun Grenade
Base Perks:
- Double Time
- Bomb Squad
Bonus Perk:
- Cold Blooded
Field Upgrade:
- Dead Silence
If you need something that’s consistently efficient, definitely give the Vaznev-9K a shot with these attachments. Though you could add an optic, it’s not required seeing the iron sites do it justice, which leaves room for other attachments to be used.

MW2 – TAQ-56 Ranked Loadout
If you’re new to Ranked and want a weapon that just about does it all, look no further than the TAQ-56. The assault rifle is as destructive as it gets from any range, and with the attachments equipped down below, will provide you with a combination of stellar accuracy, strong range, and great overall damage. Down below is the loadout we recommend for the TAQ-56 in Ranked:
Attachments:
- Optic – Aim OP-V4
- Rear Grip – Demo Cleanshot Grip
- Ammunition – High Velocity
- Underbarrel – FTAC Ripper 56
- Barrel – 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel
Lethal & Tactical:
- Frag Grenade
- Stun Grenade
Base Perks:
- Bomb Squad
- Battle Hardened
Bonus Perk:
- Fast Hands
Field Upgrade:
- Trophy System
Though the 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel does hurt aim down sight speed a bit, it’s mainly there to provide better damage range and bullet velocity, which goes a long way in Ranked.
Some of you might prefer Double Time as one of your base perks. But to have the double protection against lethals and tacticals with Bomb Squad and Battle Hardened, does help significantly in just about all three modes you can play in Ranked.
MW2 – M13B Ranked Loadout
With the ISO Hemlock no longer available to use in Ranked, a good weapon that provides a similar feel is that of the M13B assault rifle. Though it’s not that pinpoint accurate from long range, the M13B is exceptional from close to mid-range, and when equipped with the proper attachments, makes for a tough weapon to go up against.
Down below we detail the best loadout we recommend using when playing with the M13B assault rifle in MW2 Ranked:
Attachments:
- Optic – Aim OP-V4
- Rear Grip – Bruen GR-500
- Ammunition – 5.56 High Velocity
- Underbarrel – FTAC Ripper 56
- Barrel – 14″ Bruen Echelon
Lethal & Tactical:
- Semtex Grenade
- Stun Grenade
Base Perks:
- Double Time
- Battle Hardened
Bonus Perk:
- Fast Hands
Field Upgrade:
- Trophy System
Some of you might be after a bigger magazine size, so if that is the case, you might have to sacrifice one of the attachments listed above. That said, should you decide to stick with the 30-round magazine size, you will be able to optimize your success significantly with these attachments, receiving that strong balance of accuracy, range, and mobility you’re after.

MW2 – Lachmann Sub Ranked Loadout
Talk about one of the underrated metas right now in MW2, the Lachmann Sub (known to many as the MP5) is one of the best sub machine guns in the game and is a must-try for Ranked. Due to its versatility in range (though most effective in close range), the Lachmann Sub is a force to be reckoned with and these attachments and perks make this one mean loadout to rock:
Attachments:
- Optic – Cronen Mini Pro
- Rear Grip – LM Cronus Grip
- Magazine – 40 Round Mag
- Muzzle – Lockshot KT85
- Underbarrel – Phase-3 Grip
Lethal & Tactical:
- Frag Grenade
- Stun Grenade
Base Perks:
- Double Time
- Bomb Squad
Bonus Perk:
- Cold Blooded
Field Upgrade:
- Dead Silence
As highlighted earlier, movement is key in Ranked. And having a strong weapon that caters to that play, on top of providing you with great stability and minimal recoil, is clutch to have. And this Lachmann Sub loadout will do just that for you.
MW2 – Best Ranked Secondary
The only two secondary weapons you can use in Ranked, are the X12 Pistol and a Combat Knife. Unless you want to run around with a knife, we recommend sticking with the X12, a strong secondary pistol that is quite handy to have when needing to sprint around the maps and take out enemies in close range. Down below we’ve provided our best attachments for it:
Attachments:
- Rear Grip – Cronen Lima-6
- Magazine – 33 Round Mag
- Trigger Action – XRK TR9 Trigger
- Muzzle – Comp 905F Pistol
- Barrel – XRK Sidewinder-6 Slide
For a handgun like the X12, firing rate, bullet velocity, and sprint-to-fire are all important, which each of these attachments addresses and provides. As you can imagine, this makes for one of the best X12 loadouts to use in Ranked.
