Grand Theft Auto 6 has finally been shown off. Rockstar has had a terrible time with leaks usurping their announcements, but yesterday they released their first trailer ahead of schedule. And, unsurprisingly, the game looks magnificent. Lots of fans obviously want to know when they can buy it, and an analyst speculates that the GTA 6 pre-order price will be more expensive than Grand Theft Auto 5 although thankfully not $150 like other absurd rumors have suggested.

The GTA 6 trailer has already racked up over 50 million views. It stars Lucia who is seemingly based on the real-life Bonnie and Clyde, and it largely focuses on the Vice City open-world. Everything about the footage looks amazing, from the diverse range of NPCs to the nightlife to the gators invading swimming pools. The only downside is that it ends with a 2025 release window.

It is not possible to pre-order the game right now, but naturally, fans want to know when they can buy it. No date has been revealed, but analysts have shared how much they expect it to cost.

GTA 6 pre-order price speculation

Analysts speculate that the GTA 6 pre-order price will be $70. This prediction comes from Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter via Reuters. As noted by Reuters, this would be more expensive than Grand Theft Auto 5, which was available to pre-order for $59.99 back in 2012.

Although more expensive, a $70 price tag is becoming more common. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Capcom’s first $70 game, and other publishers, such as Ubisoft, have utilized the price cap since moving to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. There were unfounded rumors that Grand Theft Auto 6 would cost $150, but that was always massively unlikely. However, it’s more than possible there will be a super premium or collector’s edition that costs $150 or near enough, but $70 for a Standard copy is reasonable and expected.

Can you pre-order GTA 6?

You cannot pre-order GTA 6 as of December 5, 2023. And don’t expect to be able to pre-order the game anytime soon as the release date window is confirmed as 2025. There was an allegedly leaked pre-order date of December 12, 2023, by Argos, but this was debunked by Rockstar Universe on Twitter.

Fans will surely be able to buy in advance in 2024, but exactly when is impossible to tell as we don’t even know in what quarter the game will come out in 2025. When it does become available to buy, expect different Editions such as Standard, Deluxe, and Premium with unique bonuses like cars and skins.

Unfortunately, it will not be available to get on PC from day one. As of right now, it is only confirmed to be coming out on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with PC expected to follow after.

When is the GTA 6 pre-order start date?

We expect the GTA 6 pre-order start date to go live during the first half of 2024. Though this has yet to be confirmed by Rockstar, the game’s now-confirmed release date window of 2025 means that early purchases for the sixth mainline installment should occur several months beforehand, much like how it was with GTA 5.

For those unfamiliar, GTA 5 pre-orders began on November 5, 2012, despite the game only getting launched nearly a year later on September 17, 2013, and we expect Rockstar’s release strategy to remain the same with GTA 6. But stay tuned because we will update this page with the latest information once more details have been brought to light.
