Rockstar has finally released a first official look at Grand Theft Auto 6. It’s only the first trailer, but already the game looks spellbinding with its gorgeous graphics and crazy NPCs. One of the best aspects of the trailer is the female protagonist Lucia. Fans are already head over heels for the character, and some GTA 6 fans think Lucia resembles a real-life Hollywood megastar actress.
Although unfortunately released prematurely thanks to leaks, Rockstar’s GTA 6 trailer already has 50 million views. Along with showing gameplay and the open world, the trailer confirmed that the release date window is 2025. It is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but there is unfortunate news for fans hoping to get the game on PC from day one.
In addition to showing the playground inhabited by wild NPCs, the trailer teased the game’s story. It stars female protagonist Lucia alongside her partner previously leaked as Jason, and fans think they are based on a real-life Hollywood couple that starred in a heist movie together.
Who is Lucia in GTA 6?
Lucia is the playable female protagonist in GTA 6. The trailer shows her in prison, and fans are speculating that the game could possibly open with her escaping prison in a linear chapter similar to the opening of Red Dead Redemption 2. She is a Latina, and she is in a relationship with her partner in crime.
The trailer mostly focuses on the open-world and crazy American citizens, but we see snippets of Lucia and her co-star in action. We see them escaping the police in a car while she holds onto a fat load of money, and she says that ‘the only way we are going to get through this is by sticking together, being a team’. We also see them kick open the door of a store while holding up their pistols to perform a robbery.
All we know about the two characters is that they are partners who perform robberies together. However, thanks to the way they look, some fans are already drawing comparisons to real-life Hollywood actors.
GTA 6 Lucia in real-life
Some GTA 6 fans on Reddit think Lucia looks like real-life Hollywood actress, Eva Mendes. The Hollywood actress is a Latina like the new Grand Theft Auto female protagonist, and resemblances in the face can be argued. Over on Reddit, some have argued that she also resembles the Cyberpunk 2077 character, Panam.
While GTA 6 is believed to be a parody-style story of Bonnie and Clyde, comparisons have also been made to the film, The Place Beyond the Pines. This starred real-life Hollywood couple, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes. If the story has a similar ending to Bonnie and Clyde, then the path of our heroes is bound to end in misfortune.
Bonnie and Clyde were real-life criminals. Per the FBI, they were shot to death by officers in an ambush near Sailes, Bienville Parish, Louisiana on May 23, 1934. They were partners in crime at robbery, so the GTA 6 influence appears obvious. Here’s hoping Lucia doesn’t meet such a grisly fate. The cast for the game hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there is speculation over the voice actors.
