The druid is the most versatile class in the game, capable of doing every role it is without a doubt the most versatile. A Paladin comes in close second but with Druid also bringing a ranged DPS option it takes the number one spot.

As such a versatile class then, what race options do we have going into Dragonflight and what races excel at different things?
Before we get into it there’s certainly an argument for simply choosing the race you like the most. Racials are very minor when it comes to performance or niche situations and you can quite capably do all forms of content as any race.

So, first things first… What races can Druids be and what benefits are there?

Druid Race Options
Night Elf
- Shadowmeld – A vanish type ability that drops threat and combat giving the player stealth while stationary.
- Elusiveness – Reduced chance to be detected while stealth.
- Quickness – Minor movement speed and dodge chance buff.
- Wisp Spirit – Faster movement speed while dead.
- Nature Resistance – Small damage reduction against nature damage.

Worgen
- Viciousness – Minor crit chance buff.
- Darkflight – An active ability that provides a sprint effect on a moderate cooldown.
- Aberration – Small damage reduction against shadow and nature damage.

Kul Tiran
- Haymaker – An on use ability that knocks enemies away a small distance and stuns them.
- Brush It Off – A small versatility buff
- Child of the Sea – Swim speed buff and increased duration on breath.
- Hack of All Trades – Minor increase to trade skills
- Rime of the Ancient Mariner – Small damage reduction against frost and nature damage.

Tauren
- War Stomp – An active ability that stuns all enemies around you for a short duration on a moderate cooldown.
- Endurance – A minor health buff
- Nature Resistance – Small damage reduction against nature damage.

Troll
- Berserking – An on use haste buff on a fairly long cooldown.
- Da Voodoo Shuffle – Reduces the duration of movement impairing effects.
- Regeneration – Increased health regeneration even during combat.

High Mountain Tauren
- Bull Rush – An active ability charging you forward and knocking enemies down.
- Pride of Ironhorn – Increased mining skill and deftness.
- Mountaineer – Small versatility buff.
- Rigged Tenacity – Minor damage reduction.
- Waste Not, Want Not – Small chance to loot additional meat and fish

Zandalari Troll
Embrace of the Loa – Choose a loa to align with giving a different buff depending what you align with.
- Akunda – Heals have a chance to do additional healing.
- Bwonsamdi – Damaging abilities have a chance to do additional damage and heal you for a small amount.
- Gonk – Minor move speed increase.
- Kimbul – Chance to apply bleed effect to enemies.
- Krag’wa – Chance to get additional health and armor on damage taken.
- Pa’ku – Chance to get a small crit buff.
- Pterrodax Swoop – An active ability reducing fall speed.
- Regeneratin’ – Channel to regenerate yourself to full health, interrupted if you take damage.
- City of Gold – A small increase to all gold you loot.

Best Race For A Druid
Currently the best races for druid as far as output depends on your spec but generally Troll is best for Horde as Berserking lines up well with Druids cooldowns and Night Elf for Alliance as their buff works out as slightly more dps than the other options.
A special note for Tauren as Horde with the increased health synergises well with Guardian Druids and Worgen as Alliance synergising well with Feral.
