For the most part extra talent points in your class tree are going to mean a few more defensive options and maybe some utility. However, in your spec talent tree you may be getting some very serious upgrades, these will likely be some of the most powerful talents in your tree as you will likely be placing your new points in the lower third.

Dragonflight Which Spec Gains The Most From New Talent Points

One of the classes benefiting the most from the extra talent points would have to be the Demonology Warlock. Where Demonology has not been particularly strong during pre patch due to a few reasons but one of those is that they need to spend their talents getting back their main cooldown which did a lot of their damage. Because of this without the extra talents they are unable to get to the other capstone talents which make Demonology a particularly strong spec in Dragonflight!

With the additional talent points Demonology will now be able to get either Guillotine for AOE or the Nether Portal talents for single target. We won’t know for certain until we get some data from the raid release and mythic + release but Demonology is certainly one of the biggest winners with those extra talent points.

Dragonflight Which Spec Gains The Least From The New Talents Points

This may be quite a contentious spot but we’ve decided to put the Shadow Priest here, this is less to do with a power increase but more to do with gameplay.

You see Shadow certainly gets some substantial power but it is all passive, and it is not something that will change how you play the game. The main talent points you’ll be getting are the idol capstones, with each doing something unique but they are all done passively to either enhance your AOE, single target or insanity generation.

It is looking likely that you will be taking a couple of the idol talents as your capstones and other passive talents like Insidious Ire. These are all fairly strong talents as far as output goes but will not be changing your gameplay much. Because of this Shadow gains the least as far as gameplay goes but still gets a decent amount of output from their extra points!

Good luck. have fun in the new expansion and enjoy your new talents as you level!
