What is a Tears of the Kingdom Device Dispenser? Dotted around Hyrule are Device Dispensers, curious Zonai structures consisting of a large ball topping a structure with a chute leading to a bowl. Talking to the Construct next to each one will give you a hint about what they are all about, but getting to grips with how they work and what they do can be tricky to grasp in The Legend of Zelda TotK.

We’ll explain everything you need to know about the Tears of the Kingdom Device Dispenser and provide a breakdown of the Zonai Devices they offer. If you’re still exploring the early-game Great Sky Island and need a hand with the Shrines there, check out our Tears of the Kingdom Ukuoh Shrine and Tears of the Kingdom In-Isa Shrine guides.

What are Tears of the Kingdom Device Dispensers?

A Device Dispenser is Tears of the Kingdom’s take on a gacha machine. By placing a Zonai item in the bowl in front of the dispenser, you’ll trigger a pull and get one of several Zonai Devices in exchange. What you get is random to a certain extent – each Device Dispenser only dispenses a set number of items. Inserting the same item doesn’t also produce the same reward, so there’s no consistency to what you’ll get.

Zonai items range from Soldier Construct Horns to Captain Construct I Horns through to Zonai Charges and everything in between, which means you should never be short of items that the dispenser will take. If you ever are, scout out a few Constructs and defeat them to hoover up a few items.

What Zonai Devices do you get from a Tears of the Kingdom Device Dispenser?

As above, each device dispenses a different set of Zonai Devices. For example, the Device Dispenser in the south of the Great Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom offers Fans, Portable Pots, and Flame Emitters, while the one in the east of the Great Sky Island gives you those three devices plus Wings. By hovering over the Dispenser on the map, you’ll get a list of every Zonai Device you can potentially get for that specific device.

Here’s a list of all the Zonai Devices you can get from Device Dispensers throughout Hyrule:

  • Fan
  • Portable Pot
