MLB The Show 23 has officially entered Season 5. Following the official conclusion of the MLB season, it is the first season to come out during the offseason. There were four seasons during the regular and postseason, and there will be a couple before the game ends and MLB The Show 24 is released. Here’s what we know about the new season.

MLB The Show 23, with cover athlete Jazz Chisholm, has confirmed a load of new additions and rewards have been added to the game. They didn’t break the formula this time, so it is more of what has been done in previous seasons.

The “Finest” player set honors the finest players from around the league. With the 2023 season officially closed, all players’ stats are final and official. Thus, they can begin to be rewarded for their performance in the game.

The brand new 2023 Finest Choice Pack lets you choose one Diamond player item from one of two tiers, Base and Rare, which provide another opportunity to get the top new player cards.

The 2023 Finest Choice Pack was available from the onset of the season in the Show Store for 40,000 stubs. There is a limit of three per user, but here’s what you can get.

Rare Round:

  • 2023 Finest Series Francisco Alvarez (99 OVR)
  • 2023 Finest Series Devin Williams (99 OVR)

Base Round:

  • 2023 Finest Series George Kirby (99 OVR)
  • 2023 Finest Series Evan Phillips (99 OVR)
  • 2023 Finest Series Jake Burger (99 OVR)

Team Affinity 5 officially debuted alongside the new season as well. There are tons of 99 overall players, both from the Finest and Retro Finest (throwback players), available for you to collect.

There are 99 overall players available in TA5, including:

  • Jhoan Duran
  • Steven Kwan
  • Bobby Witt Jr.

Every team gets one player for the Team Affinity series. The new Season 5 Showdown allows you to pick six Team Affinity 5 Diamond batters per Showdown from the AL or the NL. You can then draft the teams and play your way to final bosses Felix Bautista and David Bednar. There’s also a new Conquest Map to help you earn Affinity.

Chase Pack 9 features 5-time World Series Champion and 2-time World Series MVP Reggie Jackson in the Award Series as a 99 OVR. Finally, the Ranked 8 program debuted with the season as well. Season 5 introduces 2023 Finest Series Josh Lowe (99 OVR), Blake Snell (99 OVR), and Dansby Swanson (99 OVR) to the game.

MLB The Show 23 Season 5 Release Date and Start Time

Season 5 of MLB The Show 23 arrived on November 3, according to the official website. On that day, everything for Season 4 officially ended. All rewards, challenges, and more have gone. This is mostly applicable to Diamond Dynasty, the smash hit card-collecting mode that keeps fans excited with new players all the time. Everything has changed, but it’s arguably most exciting for that mode.
