As with all Battle Royale games, there are a lot of terms in Fortnite. The meanings of these terms are often straightforward, but that’s not always the case. Players can get confused, especially when Epic Games uses similar words for different things. That’s what today’s question is about: how to get Account Levels in Fortnite?

The new Fortnite season is in full swing and millions of players are playing every day to get the Victory Royale. Along with the Daily and Weekly Quests, they’re fighting to earn tens of thousands of experience points. But what’s it all for?

Actually, the answer to this question is pretty obvious. The positive response to the Chapter 4 Battle Pass says it all. You have to level up to get great seasonal rewards, especially Doom Slayer and Geralf of Rivia.

But are Battle Pass Level and Account Level the same thing? Or to put it another way, does it even make sense to level up even if you don’t buy the Battle Pass for 950 V-Bucks?

Without wasting any more time, let’s talk about everything we know about Account Level in Fortnite and how to level up quickly.

What is the Account Level in Fortnite?

Although Epic Games uses similar terms to describe these two progressions, Battle Pass Level and Account Level aren’t the same thing. Of course, that doesn’t prevent them from progressing in the same way.

Account Level in Fortnite is your progress determined by the points you earn, not just in this season, but in all seasons. That is, regardless of the current season’s Battle Pass, it’s determined by the sum of all the points added to your account since 2017. So that’s why your Account Level is probably higher than your Battle Pass level.

Battle Pass level is reset with each season. As we explained in the Battle Stars guide, you level up with every mission you complete. With these levels you can unlock great rewards and use them when you buy the Battle Pass.

You can check your Account Level in the Career Tab. So while the Battle Pass level does a very logical job of unlocking all the rewards, is the Account Level dysfunctional? No, of course it isn’t.

  • It is the best way to show how experienced a Fortnite player you are.

Your Account Level will never be your priority when playing Fortnite. But it’s always good to know that it’s constantly rising somewhere on the fringes. Speaking of rising: How does that level actually rise?

The same way your Battle Pass level does. The points added to your profile for all your moves that earn XP, especially the daily, weekly, seasonal, and milestone missions, also affect your account level. So you don’t have to do anything extra for that.
