As with all new addons, Epic Games has a few special missions for these rocks. To complete some of the Oathbound missions, you need to find these rocks, hit them and collect the falling pieces.

Where to Find Kinetic Ore in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1
Shattered Slabs on the new Fortnite map is the only place you can find blue/purple Kinetic Ore. So you need to head to the west of the map to both complete the Battle Pass mission and have fun with these rocks.
The rocks in question are quite large and blue/purple in color, so you can hardly miss them. After making sure there are no other players around, you can attack these rocks with your Harvesting Tool or any weapon.

After a few hits, strange noises will come out of the rock and different colors will emerge from its center. You will see that immediately afterwards some pieces of it will be thrown into the surroundings.
To complete part of Oathbound, one of the missions in Chapter 4 Battle Pass, simply collect the falling pieces. It’s worth a total of 20,000 XP.

There is one more thing you can do with the Kinetic Ore in Fortnite. If you keep hitting these rocks, their energy will be released in unpredictable ways after a while. If you stand on the rock, it can launch you into the air.
Some players have already started using these rocks to make fun of their opponents and kill them in style. If you want to try it out, you can shoot at the rocks with your automatic weapon after you have attracted your enemies’ attention and made them approach the rocks.
