- Premium Warbonds are unlocked by buying them for 1000 Super Credits
- Super Credits can be bought for real money, earned from the free Warbond, or very rarely found in-game
- The best Premium Warbonds contain powerful meta weapons that you’ll need to survive at high difficulties
Helldivers 2 from Arrowhead Game Studios has taken a fairly unique approach to monetization among live service games, with two separate battle pass types. You’ve got your free Warbond that’s available to all players, and your Premium Warbond that you need to buy. So if you’re wondering how to get the paid passes, that’s exactly what this guide is for.
Luckily, unlocking Premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2 is a piece of cake, and the process will be pretty familiar to you if you’re someone who plays a lot of live service games already. We’ll take you through how to get a Premium Warbond, explain the in-game currency and how to get it, and explain what’s in a Premium Warbond and why you should consider getting them in the first place.
How to get Premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2
To get Premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2, you need to purchase them for a cost of 1000 Super Credits. This applies to all of the Warbonds added to the game so far. You can purchase 1000 Super Credits in-game for $9.99, which can immediately be used to purchase the pass, giving you access to the Premium Warbonds store. Super Citizens have access to this by default.
Premium Warbonds typically contain a mix of weapons, armour, player cards, emotes, boosters and Super Credits, hopefully helping you on your way to buying the next Premium Warbond. For the best Warbonds in the game, many of the weapons are meta and are almost a requirement if you want to consistently survive on missions at the highest difficulties, so they’re definitely worth buying if you’ve got the Super Credits to spare.
However, if you don’t want to pay for in-game content, there is a way you can get Premium Warbonds for free. The regular free Warbond has 650 Super Credits available for purchase with the Medals you earn by playing the game. There is also an additional way to earn Super Credits in Helldivers 2 without spending real-world money. Points of Interest and Bunkers that you come across during missions can potentially have resources such as ammo and samples there, but on rare occasions can also play host to some Super Credits – this is not a reliable method, however. By combining these three methods, you’ll be well on your way to earning yourself a Premium Warbond.
Each page of the free Warbonds shop requires you to spend a certain number of Medals to unlock the next page. So in addition to purchasing the Super Credits themselves, you’ll need to buy other items such as weapons and armor to unlock more Super Credits, even if you don’t want them.
