What are Defend Campaigns in Helldivers 2?
Defend Campaigns are a type of mission which sees you defend parts of your territory from a surprise enemy attack. At the time of writing, a Major Order requiring players to ‘Win at least 8 Defend Campaigns against the Automatons’ is active. Completing enough Defend Campaigns will net you a nice reward of 12,500 Requisition Slips.
How to complete Defend Campaigns in Helldivers 2
With most missions, completing them is simply a matter of landing with your squad, fulfilling a few objectives, and then retreating via your ship at the end. Defend Campaigns are not the same, and cannot be completed simply by finishing a mission. Instead, each planet that is targeted by a Defend Campaign will have a bar showing the control you and your enemy have over it.
Every time you complete a mission on one of these planets, the control bar will shift slightly, with all global mission completions contributing to it too. In order to complete a Defend Campaign, the bar must be completely filled to regain Helldiver control over the planet before the two-week timer runs out.
You can’t complete a Defend Campaign on your own, but you can contribute to it with each mission completed in this specific world. In order to qualify for the reward for successfully defending the planet, you will need to fulfil the objective of completing eight Defend Campaign missions before the timer elapses.
