Wondering how to get Goo in Enshrouded? Goo will first pop up when you’re looking to upgrade your Flame Alter Flame to level 4, which requires tracking down x15 of a mysterious resource called Goo. As with many other materials, Enshrouded doesn’t give you much to go on. Rather than a resource you mine or gather, it’s crafted.
We’ll walk you through how to get Amber in Enshrouded, which is rather simple once you’ve got the right gear and resources. For more help exploring Enshrouded, check out how to get Resin, how to get Amber, how to get twig, and how to get Flintstone.
Where to find Goo in Enshrouded
To craft Goo in Enshrouded, you’ll need x1 Dirt, x1 Shroud Liquid, and x1 Bug Dust. Dirt is obtained by simply pickaxing any patch of ground. Shroud Liquid is gathered from vegetation in the Shroud, specifically the grey, mushroom-like plants. Bug Dust is crafted at the Alchemist using Critter Parts.
There are several steps you’ll need to complete before you craft Goo.
First, you’ll need to awaken and summon the Alchemist to your base as part of the Powerful Alchemy quest. The Alchemist Ancient Vault is located in the west of the Springlands starting region. Fast travel to the Springlands fast travel Ancient Spire, then glide west and continue on foot to the vault. Return to your base and summon the Alchemist using the Summoning Staff.
The second step to get Goo in Enshrouded is to find the Alchemist’s Mortar. Once you’ve summoned the Alchemist and given them some shelter, you’ll unlock The Alchemist’s Mortar Quest, which takes you to a village called Lone Thistle in the Shroud zone east of the Farmer Ancient Vault, northeast of the Springlands Ancient Spire, south of the Revelwood Ancient Spire, and north of Mistbury Catacombs and the Hill of Scavengers.
Once you reach the village, head to the large house in the east that sits half out of the Shroud. Enter and head down to the basement to find the Mortar. However, there’s a gate blocking the way. You’ll need to climb to the top of the building to find the yellow trigger button to open the gate. The button is inside a chimney in the west of the house. Check the image above for the exact location of the house.
Once you have the Alchemist’s Mortar, return to your base and place down the Mortar. Finally, to unlock the Goo recipe in Enshrouded, you’ll need to interact with the Alchemist and craft x1 Bug Dust, which requires x1 Critter Parts, a resource obtained from killing the spider-like creatures found in Shroud areas such as the Saline Quarry southeast of the starting base.
