How to get Metal Scraps in Enshrouded – best farming spots

Need to know how to get Metal Scraps in Enshrouded? Metal Scraps are one of the most vital crafting resources and are used to make everything from the Grappling Hook to Lockpicks, Nails, Axes, and armour sets. Yet, you won’t come across Metal Scraps all that often and they can’t be crafted from mined ores.

Where to find Metal Scraps in Enshrouded

To get Metal Scraps in Enshrouded, you’ll need to smash buildings, structures, furniture, and other destructible objects in villages, ruins, and camps out in the open world or loot it from fallen non-Shroud Scavenger enemies. The most efficient tool for this is the axe, but if you’re going for a full metal object, opt for the pickaxe.

Items with visible metal components like workbenches and barrels tend to drop Metal Scraps when destroyed, but it’s not guaranteed so it’s a bit hit and miss. White wrapped packages, carts, pots, shelves, crates, urns, and any items that give a ‘Disassemble’  or ‘Search’ option when you approach them all have a chance to drop Metal Scraps. You can also get Metal Scraps as floor loot and in chests found in settlements out in the open world as well so be methodical when looting.

Scavengers are the most common type of enemy you’ll find in non-enshrouded areas. When killed, they are guaranteed to drop Metal Scraps. Better yet, enemies respawn when you close the game and reload, so don’t hesitate to use this when farming.

Where to farm Metal Scraps

So far, we’ve found four reliable Metal Scraps farming spots in Enshrouded, all of which are in the starting Springlands area so perfect for the early game:

• Cinder Vault
• Blacksmith Ancient Vault
• Small settlement northwest of the starting base
• Rookmore

Cinder Vault

One of the best early game spots to farm Metal Scraps is the Cinder Vault, specifically the chamber where you spawn when first starting Enshrouded. Hack away at the metal containers lining the walls and you’ll get x3 Metal Scraps for each one. Each one takes 30 hits to destroy so it’s an option for those with a bit of patience.

The chamber contains 12 of these metal urn, netting you 36 Metal Scrap per run. As above, exiting and reloading your save will respawn them, theoretically giving you an infinite source of Metal Scraps. The only hurdle is your pickaxe degrading with successive hits, but you can fix it by interacting with the workbench at your base.

Blacksmith Ancient Vault

Two Scavenger enemies spawn just outside the Ancient Vault where you free the Blacksmith and then another inside. Killing the three of them should give you 3-5 Metal Scraps every time. You can then destroy the six metal vessels inside the vault for x3 Metal Scraps a pop, totalling around over 20 Metal Scraps.

Small settlement northwest of the starting base

There’s a small settlement northwest of the starting base area where two Scavenger enemies spawn. You’ll need the Grappling Hook to reach it, but you should get a steady 2-3 Metal Scraps for each visit. Shoot one of the red exploding barrels with the bow to quickly take out the Scavengers from a distance.

Rookmore

Rookmore is a large Scavenger camp located west of the Braelyn Bridge. To reach it, head to the Blacksmith Ancient Vault then glide down to the settlement. There are over half a dozen enemies there along with several chests and a glut of breakable objects. Clearing out the camp should get you around 22-25 Metal Scraps from the enemies alone so is well worth doing.
