Passing time in Dragon’s Dogma

To pass time in Dragon’s Dogma 2 either rest at an inn or camp, or alternatively, doze on a bench.

To rest at an Inn, interact with the innkeeper and select rest. Resting at an Inn does come at a cost, typically 1000 gold and above for a night’s (or day’s) rest. Inns appears on your map as a bed icon and always have a blue banner outside to help you spot them.

More cost efficient is to seek out camps in the wild. Use a camping kit to set up a camp then rest for the night to move time to the next morning. In both cases, you’ll have the option to rest until morning or night fall, as required.

You’ll find benches with red ornate blankets in settlements, cities, and larger camps throughout Dragon’s Dogma 2. These appear on your map as, you guessed it, a bench. Interact with a bench to sit down then select the doze off option. When dozing at a bench, you’ll fast forward less time than if you rested at an Inn or Camp, so keep in mind you may need to doze several times to hit morning or nighttime.

That’s all there is to how to pass time in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s worth keeping in mind that some quests are time sensitive, so we recommend a bit of caution and completing any pending quests before resting so you don’t miss out or trigger unintended consequences.
