There are many components that make Palworld a great game. While one of the best aspects is building bases and employing pals to do specific jobs, the other best aspect of the game is breeding pals to birth some powerful beasties. Breeding is a huge chunk of the game, and this pro breeding tip from the Palworld community shares great advice to unlock ‘perfect’ pals.
There are over 100 pals in the game part of the complete paldeck. Pocketpair’s official roadmap says more will be added in future content, and these future pals could possibly include this datamined secret creature that resembles a legendary baddie from Pokémon.
Pocketpair did implement a fix in update 0.1.5.1 where bred pals would have a fixed passive. This annoyed lots of fans in the community, and thankfully, Pocketpair swiftly fixed it for upset fans. Now that bred pals no longer have a forced passive, now is the perfect time to continue breeding an army of cute little Palworld monsters that would make perfect plushies.
Palworld pro breeding tip to unlock higher-tier pals
Reddit user RastaCanada has shared some great pro breeding advice for how to unlock higher tier and ‘perfect’ pals through breeding in Palworld. If you don’t know how to breed at all yet, we have you covered with a guide for how to unlock and perform breeding in the game.
The Reddit user recommends you start breeding as soon as you unlock the breeding farm. They recommend you ‘Take any pal with a single good passive, and no other random passive, with any other pal (of the opposite gender) with another good passive in order to create combos such as musclehead/ferocious (for ATK), swift/runner (for movement speed) or artistant/work slave (for work speed).
They say it’s important to note that random passives may jeopardize your chances of keeping the passive you want. To help ensure you get the passives you want, check out this explanation of passive skill inheritance breeding mechanics that explains all of the odds and probabilities.
While you can check out the full explanation, you should know the basic odds that correspond to a ‘typical breeding scenario where the creatures you’re breeding possess a set of unique passive skills’. As always, ‘The goal is to inherit all these skills, without the introduction of any additional random skills,’ and below are the odds:
- 4 skills – probability of no randoms – 10%
- 3 skills – probability of no randoms – 12%
- 2 skills – probability of no randoms – 24%
- 1 skill – probability of no randoms – 40%
As for why you should specifically breed as early as possible, it’s because hatching eggs is a capture and helps you level up, but more importantly because breeding early will give you a big pool of good ‘parent pals’ that you can breed into more powerful, ‘perfect,’ and higher-tier pals.
The OP RastaCanda cites the example of breeding a Surfent with ferocious/musclehead early and then, at level 40+, breeding with an Anubis that has the emperor passive to unlock ‘an absolute chad ferocious, musclehead, earth emperor Anubis’.
In addition to breeding as early as possible and with pals that have a single good passive, the OP also recommends breeding Ragnahawk first if you don’t want to wait for cakes to cook. They also say you can try to find a huge dragon egg around Mount Obsidian to get a Jormutide Ignis.
