Dubbed by many as Pokémon with guns, Pocketpair’s survival game remains one of the most popular games on Steam and Xbox consoles. It is only early access right now, which means it is not yet the final product and many improvements are on the way. Lots of fans are wondering when the next Palworld patch is coming and the official roadmap for 2024 details all of the bug fixes and massive new content coming out this year.
While the game has seen lots of success, it has also been marred by some controversy. The Pokémon Company has released a statement in response to all of the comparisons, meanwhile, PETA has also blasted the game while requesting a Vegan guide. While the game has faced some criticism over Pokémon similarities and ‘animal cruelty,’ the game is simply lots of fun and has quickly gained a huge fanbase.
Even in its unfinished state, the game offers lots of content. But, even more content is on the way as the developer has promised to regularly update the game, and the official Palworld roadmap for 2024 has been shared.

Addressing Critical Issues
- Currently, numerous bugs have been identified, and we are prioritizing fixing those.
- Sometimes, the world date may experience rollbacks.
- The loading screen may persist when trying to load into worlds.
Improvements to Implement ASAP
- Key configuration improvements.
- Improvements to base Pal AI and pathing.

When is the next Palworld patch and update
The next Palworld patch is set for 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET/ 6 PM GMT on February 6th. Per the game’s official Twitter account, ‘There will be some changes to the multiplayer system infrastructure’ and the update ‘is in response to the increase number of players’. Pocketpair says the game isn’t being taken offline, but you may have difficultly connecting to servers.
While the above is scheduled to happen, the most recent patch notes we have are for updates 0.1.4 and 0.1.1.3 for Steam and Xbox. In regard to future patches, Pocketpair has said that they are prioritizing bug fixes and improvements before new features. Below is their message shared on Discord:
‘Sales have far exceeded the development team’s expectations, and we are currently experiencing many problems due to excessive access congestion, among other challenges. We will prioritize improving this issue first, and then move on to implementing new in-game features. Thank you for your understanding.
While the lack of a specific timeframe is unfortunate, the transparency and communication are great. The implementation of crossplay between Steam and Xbox is something to anticipate, and so are new islands, Pals, bosses, and technologies. We expect more patches and updates to be delivered this week, but it won’t be any of the new significant content we are all anticipating. Dedicated servers and other major fixes are still on the way.
