Embark Studios is about to begin The Finals Season 2. It’s been anticipated for a while, but that anticipation has been sent into overdrive this past week following the launch of the trailer. This trailer confirmed and showed glimpses of a new neon map for The Finals Season 2, and the developer has subsequently hyped it as a ‘sight to behold’.
The Finals Season 2 release date and expected start time is set for March 14th as confirmed by the reachthefinals Twitter account. The story is that the game has been hacked by the CNS, and there is lots of new content coming. Embark Studios has explained how to win the new 5v5 Power Shift mode, and the developer has also confirmed new weapons for each of the classes.
As if new weapons and a new mode weren’t enough, there will also be a fresh map to explore. Not only does it turn neon, but it will also have plenty of opportunities for parkour.
New The Finals Season 2 map is neon cityscape
The Finals Season 2 is introducing a new map called SYS$HORIZON. As mentioned, the story of the game’s second season is that it has been hacked by the CNS, and this is their Arena.
They are able to introduce this Arena thanks to having ‘access to assets and source files’. We do see glimpses of the trailer embedded on the reachthefinals Twitter account, and it looks absolutely breathtaking.
While the trailer only provides glimpses, developer Embark Studios has provided a description on Steam. The basic summary is that it ‘exists in the loading realm of the game show’ and is a ‘glitchy, neon-filled cityscape’.
As for the structure of the map, the dev says it ‘features a mix of vertical and horizontal gameplay’. It includes ‘Voxel bridges [that] create pathways between buildings,’ and it is also littered with ‘pieces of floating, glitched geometry’ that will help you parkour through the arena.
Lastly, the developer says it is a ‘sight to behold, especially at night’. All of this sounds mouthwatering, and you can catch a glimpse of the map in the screenshot below:
