Since the game first launched back in December 2023, it’s become a massive hit with players around the world. The Finals Season 2 predicted start time
We estimate The Finals Season 2 to begin on 14 March 2024 at 5am PDT / 8am EDT / 12pm GMT / 1pm CET. The Season 1 Battle Pass ended on 12 March, signalling the end of the game’s first season, and giving the developers a couple of days to swap over to the new season.
While we don’t know for sure that this is the start time as it hasn’t been confirmed, this is the time at which previous major updates have been released for The Finals, so we think it’s safe to say the same will be true of this one.
The Finals Season 2 trailer
A trailer for The Finals Season 2 dropped on March 11 2024. The trailer shows the season having a vaporwave aesthetic, with maps, weapons, skins and more all having a flashy, pixelated, 80s-inspired design. As well as that, there are plenty more updates coming to make this season even better than the first.
What’s new in The Finals Season 2?
As well as the new vaporwave aesthetic, there are plenty of new additions to change up gameplay, including new skills for each build. The Medium build gains the Dematerializer, which lets you temporarily remove physical surfaces to briefly be able to shoot through them. They also get the Data Reshaper, which changes all enemy items like mines and turrets into random items.
The Heavy build gains the Anti-Gravity Cube which causes zero-gravity in the area around it. And lastly, the Gateway for Light builds briefly deploys two portals, letting you quickly get in and out of the battle without getting into too much danger.
As for new game modes, there’s a brand-new 5v5 game mode called Power Shift, so you can play with even bigger squads than before.
We’ll also likely see some new events. The current event, Smoking Guns, gave the game a cowboy twist, and is set to stay until the very end of Season 1. We might see a new event take its place immediately with the start of Season 2, but it’s probably more likely that new events will be saved for further down the line.
There will also be balance changes to come, with weapons and contestants all receiving changes to how they play. With some new items coming into the game, it’s likely that some weapons will need buffs or nerfs in accordance with them to better balance things.
The Finals Season 2 leaks
A post on Reddit from u/The_Armechadon shows off two apparently leaked skins for the FCAR assault rifle. The first is a pretty swish-looking one, with a pink, vaporwave-inspired aesthetic. The second is much more creative, being covered entirely in sticky notes. We don’t know for sure if these are coming to the game, but we hope they are.
As well as new skins coming to the game, we’re getting some new music too. Thanks to some datamining from players, the soundtrack for Season 2 has leaked, with fans on Reddit already lauding how great it is.
