After having focused on the Terminids for many weeks in Helldivers 2, the attention has been shifted back to the Automatons as the robot army has looked to regain a foothold in various Sectors of the galaxy. Thankfully, Super Earth isn’t about to let that happen and the Galactic War has been going in our favor with multiple Major Order successes in a row.

Following a brief trip over to the Terminid Sectors to take out 100 million Terminids, which was completed in mere hours, the new Major Order once again takes us back to the Automatons for a more complex and difficult event.

Upon completion of the latest Major Order, Super Earth congratulated the Helldivers by saying,

“The vast quantities of Terminds eradicated by the Helldivers has greatly aided the Ministry of Science’s Termind Research Initiative. Though much work remains, our understanding of the most efficacious bug-eradication methodologies has been thoroughly advanced.

One key ancillary finding was that Terminds produce higher quality E-710 when harvested under extreme duress. This finding will guide future E-710 acquisition policy, assuring our access to uninterrupted FTL travel capabilities.

Close observation of the Terminds did uncover a new behavior: the construction of spore-producing towers, roughly the size of small skyscrapers. This development appears to pose no threat, but will be closely monitored.”

The next Major Order was then announced, which takes players to the Andromeda Sector after having successfully liberated the Ymir Sector.

“Following the valiant defense of X-45 by the Helldivers, we have maintained a foothold in the Ymir Sector despite the Automatons’ strenuous efforts to annex it. However, our units remain cut-off from support. Now, the time has come to reverse the strategic situation.

The Automatons have extended their despotic forces across vast swaths of the galaxy. This avarice has opened up the opportunity to split their forces down the middle, which would throw their cut-off forces into disarray and weaken their defenses for a short time on the cut-off planets.

The Helldivers are ordered to cut a line through the Andromeda Sector, joining our forces and dividing the Automatons’ in two.”

The new Major Order calls for the Helldivers 2 community to “split the Automaton forces in half” by liberating four planets from the Andromeda Sector, beginning at Aesir Pass before moving to Marfark and concluding with Matar Bay and Martale. Players will also need to keep an eye on Charbel-VII, which is a supply line directly as part of the Andromeda Sector, but if it does fall then the robot army will also have to get through Charon Prime, so that section should be pretty safe for now.

However, the last Automaton Major Order in Helldivers 2, which saw players liberate and defend X-45, did have its share of challenges toward the end as a Strategic Alert diverted players to Aesir Pass which then almost cost Super Earth X-45 as the robots swooped in to try and regain control. So, expect similar tactics to be deployed over the next six days.

This Major Order is a perfect opportunity to try out the new Commando Rocket Launcher, which suits the Automatons much more than the Terminids due to it being able to destroy Fabricators and take out enemies easily. If you are primarily a Terminid player, you may need to change your loadout as the meta Breaker Shotgun doesn’t quite cut it with the Automatons.
