Helldivers 2 fans can now vote to possibly change game’s most controversial feature

Helldivers 2 has significantly improved thanks to the most recent major update issuing a boatload of massive buffs. While this update was a huge success, Arrowhead isn’t content with the current status of HD2 as they are still looking to deliver changes wanted by the community. Not everything is set in stone, but Helldivers 2 fans can now vote to possibly change arguably the game’s most controversial feature.

For the next major update, we know we are getting buffs for the jump pack and purifier. The democracy space station is also being constructed at Gaellivar, and it’s believed that this well result in the previously leaked clan system. In addition to platoons, other leaks include a new “dangerous, adorable” wildlife faction as well as the implementation of vehicles.

While all of the above is exciting, all Helldivers 2 fans can now rally to cast their vote on how they feel about the game’s most divisive component: ragdoll physics.

On the official Helldivers Discord, community manager, Twinbeard, has started a poll which asks “How do you feel about ragdolling in Helldivers 2 at the moment?”. The options are as follows:

• It’s great. Don’t change a thing
• It’s ok
• It’s a bit too much at times
• It’s fine when playing bugs but not great playing bots
• It’s fine when playing bugs but awful playing bots
• Would be fine if less for Striders, Hulks & Fortresses
• I hate it. Remove it entirely

As of writing, there are still two days left to vote. There have been over 27,000 votes currently, and “It’s a bit too much at times” is currently winning at 37% with over 10,000 votes. “Remove it entirely” is rock bottom with just 3% of total votes.

Although not official, it’s likely Arrowhead is looking to tweak ragdolling and is thus trying to gauge how the community currently feels. There have been complaints in the past that ragdolling is “extremely painful” as it can lead to deaths that feel cheap.

It’s clear that the community doesn’t want ragdolling to be removed, so it’ll be interesting to see how Arrowhead improve the feature. Make sure to cast your vote as Arrowhead are listening to the community as evidenced by all of the recent buffs.
