Helldivers 2 is back with a bang! There was a dip in popularity for a couple of months, but now the community has come back strong following Arrowhead’s recent compilation of huge buffs. The good news is that even more weapon balance increases are on the way, and another Helldivers 2 incoming buff has been revealed for an “awful” weapon in the next patch.
A lot has recently happened in the world of HD2. Arrowhead has released the new Chemical Agents Warbond, and even more massive buffs not mentioned in the patch notes have been discovered by fans. In addition, the Arrowhead CCO has agreed that a “harder difficulty” mode is needed following complaints from some that the game has become slightly too easy even on the highest tier.
While we have a lot to anticipate for the future, including the eventual arrival of the Illuminate, what fans would like to see most is more buffs. Thankfully, more buffs are officially on the way as two have already been teased for the next patch.
Another Helldivers 2 buff revealed for next patch
On X, Arrowhead CCO and Helldivers 2 creative director, Pilestedt, was asked “Can we get a MASSIVE buff to the Purifier? It was bad before the patch but now after all the buffs to the other weapons it’s kinda awful”.
The creative director replied, “Yes. We already have it on the internal build. It will be able to be fired as the Scorcher + charge up if you want blast”.
This is fantastic news as it shows the developer is continuing to listen to the community and has more buffs prepared. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly when the next patch will arrive.
Reacting to the purifier getting a massive buff in the next patch, the CCO’s comment has some of the community on Reddit slightly concerned that the Scorcher will become obsolete. However, the community is more than willing to trust Arrowhead, so the consensus for the time being is to simply let the developer cook.
In addition to the purifier, Pilestedt has recently teased an exciting buff for the jump pack next patch, too. No details were provided, but so far for the next major update we have buffs incoming for the purifier and jump pack.
