Another one for the rumour pile, as a PS Store listing seems to point to Gotham Knights expanding its co-op mode to accommodate four players.
Users on Reddit (as first reported by PC GamesN) spotted a quiet update to the game’s PS Store page over the weekend. While the game has had co-op confirmed for some time, the game’s Online sections now claim it supports “up to 4 online players with PS Plus”.
However, at the time of writing, the game’s info below that still says “in solo-play or with one other hero”. There’s also been no confirmation from Warner Bros or the official channels, so it could be an honest mistake. Still, it’d be a welcome addition, given that the game features four playable DC heroes to pick from in Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood and Batgirl.
The open world action RPG was first announced back in 2020. The game takes place in a Gotham City without its famous Caped Crusader. Batman is dead, and the Court of Owls are running roughshod. It’s up to you as Bats’ closest allies to try and bring some justice back to the city.
Coming from the developers behind Batman: Arkham Origins, it’ll likely be the only step into Batman’s world we’ll make this year. Rocksteady, creator of the rest of the Batman Arkham games, are busy on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. That game got delayed into next year just a couple of months ago.
Hopefully, we’ll hear soon enough if there has been any changes to co-op in Gotham Knights. The game’s due to arrive on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 25, 2022.
