Rocksteady has confirmed it has delayed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, with the game now expected in Spring 2023.
The news was broken by the studio’s co-founder Sefton Hill via his Twitter account. The creative director on the game posted the following update to fans. “We’ve made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to Spring 2023. I know a delay is frustrating, but that time is going into making the best game we can. I look forward to bringing the chaos to Metropolis together. Thanks for your patience.”
Rumours that the game would be delayed had first circled last month. At the time, no official reason was cited as causing the postponement, and to be honest we’ve not been given much more elaboration with this official confirmation. DC fans shouldn’t be too left in the lurch though, as the publisher has previously confirmed Gotham Knights should arrive on October 25 of this year.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was first unveiled back in August of 2020. You’ll be playing as four members of the DC villains-forced-to-make-good team. Specifically, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark and Deadshot will be teaming up to take on a corrupted Justice League and Brainiac. The game comes from Rocksteady, who were of course responsible for the excellent Batman: Arkham series of games.
Providing the game isn’t delayed again before then, hopefully we’ll be playing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League this time next year. In the meantime, we’ll have to make do with the game’s most recent gameplay trailer from back in December.
