Free V-Bucks has been a popular topic among Fortnite players over the past few days. Epic Games sent vast amounts of the game’s premium currency to many players, yet some players received nothing. Interestingly, some players received more than 10,000 V-Bucks, which was a nice surprise. However, many community members are still confused and don’t know why they got or didn’t get this refund.

In this article, we will explain everything you need to know about the recent V-Bucks refund. We will also let you know why you didn’t receive anything. Before we begin, however, check out our guide on how to unlock free skins in Fortnite. Furthermore, you should also know that you can earn free rewards by helping Epic Games.

Why didn’t I receive any free V-Bucks in Fortnite?

Shortly after the v29.10 Fortnite update came out, many players reported that they received 950 V-Bucks. Most of these players are Fortnite Crew members, and this refund would only happen to those who owned the Battle Pass before buying the Crew membership. However, many other players received it, which is what caused confusion. Furthermore, Epic Games granted a free car to some players.

A few hours later, the Fortnite developer refunded even more V-Bucks, with some players receiving thousands of them. Fortunately, we found out why this refund occurred, and here’s everything you need to know.

With the latest update, Epic lowered the price of Fortnite Festival instruments. Epic instruments were lowered by 500 V-Bucks, while Rare instruments were lowered by 200. Due to this, if you owned instruments prior to the update, you should have received a V-Bucks refund. The more instruments you owned, the bigger the refund. This also affects instruments purchased in bundles or gifted to your friends.

If you’ve played Rocket League at any point with the same Epic Games account, chances are that you received a free car on Tuesday. Many cars carry over from Rocket League to Fortnite, which explains why many players received a new one. Furthermore, we expect this to happen in the future when Epic releases new cars in Fortnite.

While we have an explanation regarding cars and instrumental refunds, no one is really sure why so many players received 950 V-Bucks on Tuesday. In general, Epic Games sends this amount to players who own the Battle Pass and then subscribe to Fortnite Crew. However, this time, even players who weren’t eligible for this one-time refund received it. Due to this, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement by the game developer.
