Shortly after the downtime for the v29.10 update ended, many players noticed this gift by Epic. However, no one really knows why this happened yet.
Besides V-Bucks, you can also unlock a couple of free skins in Fortnite. Considering that many of these skins will stay in the game for a few more weeks, you don’t have to hurry up. Why did Fortnite give you free V-Bucks?
The downtime for the latest Fortnite update ended at approximately 6 AM Eastern Time. As soon as servers returned online, many players rushed to try new content out. However, they shortly found out a pleasant surprise that wasn’t covered by Fortnite patch notes. Immediately after logging in, many players received free V-Bucks from Epic Games.
At the moment, it’s unknown why Epic sent this gift to players. Considering that the game developer provided no explanation, it’s hard to pinpoint the reason. However, some players theorize that this could be Epic’s way of making up for an extended server downtime at the launch of Chapter 5 Season 2, as the servers were down for more than 19 hours.
Others, however, believe that this is simply a refund for some older purchases. Considering that the Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks, players who received this gift will be able to obtain it for free. Since many players are confused regarding these free V-Bucks, we are hoping that Epic Games will soon reveal the reason behind them.
