Fortnite Reload has been a major hit since it launched earlier this season. The new mode brings a faster pace to the game with respawns and a smaller map that features iconic locations such as Tilted Towers and Pleasant Park. Now, it looks like the mode could be set to receive its first major update since it was released last month as a popular POI from Chapter 1 could be added.
According to Fortnite leaker HYPEX, Epic Games is working on adding a desert biome to the Fortnite Reload map, which could then bring Paradise Palms to the mode. In Chapter 1, the desert biome first appeared in Season 5, replacing Moisty Mire. The biome consisted of Paradise Palm and a smaller landmark that got dubbed ‘Little Mexico’ by players. although its name is Pueblo.
It is unclear whether this would replace an existing area of the map, or whether it would be added to expand the map. But, with there only being 40 players per match, making the map larger would make it more difficult to find engagements in the early game as the players are spread thinner across the map.
This map concept by RaphooComix shows how it could work if the map was expanded.
This is incredibly exciting news, especially as it could mean that Fortnite Reload could see seasons like the core Battle Royale mode, which means we could eventually see the map go through the black hole event and add Chapter 2. Speaking of Chapter 2, Fortnite OG is set to return later this year ahead of Chapter 6, and this time it will focus on Chapter 2 and include POIs such as The Agency. But before that, Season 3 is wrapping up which will pave the way for a new Marvel-themed season that will follow the new Wolverine and Deadpool collaboration.
