Medallions have become almost a staple in new Fortnite seasons, with each major update bringing new bosses with their own set of powerful Medallions to collect. Getting your hands on one can be the difference maker when it comes down to you and the last few players, so you’ll want to know how to get them to net yourself some more wins.

That’s why we’ve put together a guide to tell you what you need to know about Medallions in Fortnite, as well as what the current Medallions are and how you can get them.

What are Medallions in Fortnite?

Medallions in Fortnite are items you can receive after defeating one of the bosses in the current Fortnite map. When you kill a boss, you can pick up the Medallion, and depending on which one you pick up, you’ll receive a different powerful buff. You can also get multiple buffs if you manage to pick up multiple Medallions in one match.

However, while you’re holding a Medallion, your location will be marked on the map for other players to see, similar to when you have a Victory Crown. With one Medallion, your position won’t be very precise, but the more Medallions you have, the more exactly your location will be marked, so watch out!

All Medallions in Chapter 5 Season 3

There are three bosses for you to defeat to earn their Medallions. All of them will have their locations marked on the map with the logo of their respective Medallions. Here is a list of all the current bosses:

Megalo Don’s Medallion

Megalo Don’s Medallion infuses you with Nitro. This gives you a buff to movement speed and reload speed, decreased stamina consumption, fall damage immunity and the ability to deal damage by sprinting into walls and players. Megalo Don can be found at Brutal Beachhead at the southern end of the Fortnite map.

Ringmaster Scarr

Ringmaster Scarr’s Medallion gives you infinite ammo for all of your weapons. Be aware that this does not mean infinite magazine size, as you’ll still have to reload. You’ll also net yourself a small buff to weapon damage. Ringmaster Scarr can be found in the Nitrodrome, or sometimes in a convoy travelling around the map.

The Machinist

The Machinist’s Medallion will slowly recharge your shields over time once you’ve been out of combat for a certain amount of time. The Machinist can be found at Redline Rig, or sometimes patrolling around the map as part of a convoy.

Once you defeat one of the bosses, as well as dropping their Medallion, you’ll also get a couple of weapons unique to that boss. These some of the most powerful weapons in the current build, so there’s plenty of reason to take them down even if you’re not completely sold on the Medallion itself.
