With the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard that is set to happen somewhere in mid-2023, World of Warcraft players are once again speculating about an Xbox port for the aging MMO. An Xbox port for WoW might be for the best, considering its current downfall in player count. So, opening up to new players on a different platform could very well breathe life into the game.

Will World Of Warcraft Come To Xbox?
Unfortunately, at the moment, there are no plans for an Xbox port for World of Warcraft. In a recent interview between Twitch streamer Annie Fuchsia and game director Ion Hazzikostas, the Twitch streamer asked if Wow was coming to consoles. To that, Hazzikostas gave a definite no to the possibility of a console port for the MMO.

Since the game’s interface was specifically designed for PCs, World of Warcraft will remain PC-exclusive for the time being. Furthermore, even if an Xbox port or any other console port does happen, they’ll have to work on it from scratch, and that won’t be easy.

Considering that the World of Warcraft community has also heavily relied on add-ons and other third-party apps to improve the game’s function, those things won’t really be available to console players. Though Hazzikostas did mention that official controller support was made with an eye for accessibility, Thus, accessibility is still the game developers’ top priority.

In the end, never say never, and it is entirely up to Activision Blizzard to change their minds.
