World of Warcraft Dragonflight DPS Tier List

Dragonflight DPS tier list
Si Yan Updated on by

There’s nothing more satisfying than watching your max-level character in Dragonflight squeeze out those big numbers on your display. This is also why damage has always been the undisputed king that groups mainly demand for Mythic+ Dungeons. However, things aren’t the same for Dragonflight’s Mythic+ Dungeons, which is set to kick off on December 13, 2022.

While damage and utility are considered, survivability will also be given some serious attention this time, given that players have difficulty clearing even the simplest Dungeons in Dragonflight. Since the Mythic+ Dungeons are right around the corner, here’s a DPS Tier List for PVE that separates the top-performing DPS Classes from the not-so-worthy ones.

Dragonflight DPS Tier List For Mythic+

Before diving into this Tier list, keep in mind that every spec on this list is viable, and you’ll most likely get the most out of a Class you enjoy. Anyway, just don’t go chasing around big numbers.

Moreover, you should know that this list was also made considering the tunings done to Classes in the latest patch (10.0.2). Therefore, it’s subject to change whenever Blizzard decides to balance it further.

So, without further ado, we present our DPS tier list for the upcoming Mythic+ PVE that is going to start off with a bang for Season 1:

S TierHavoc Demon Hunter, Outlaw Rogue, Windwalker Monk, Demonology Warlock, Subtlety Rogue
A TierAssassination Rogue, Enhancement Shaman, Unholy Death Knight, Feral Druid, Frost Mage, Shadow Priest, Furry Warrior, Fire Mage, Frost Death Knight
B TierArcane Mage, Balance Druid, Devastation Evoker, Beast Mastery Hunter, Elemental Shaman, Arms Warrior
C Tier
Survival Hunter, Retribution Paladin, Destruction Warlock
D Tier

We’ll go over some of the exciting Classes that stand out more compared to the rest!

Havoc Demon Hunter

If there’s one Class that’s killing it, that must be the Havoc Demon Hunter. It would also be no surprise to see it on a separate tier. The Havoc Demon Hunter is topping the DPS charts with its ridiculous AOE damage. In addition, this Class has top-tier survivability in the game which helps  in surviving getting one shot by enemies in Dungeons.

The Class also enjoys damage reduction and passive healing thanks to spells like Blur, Will of the Illidari, and Soul Rending. However, the only drawback to this Class is its lack of utility, but with the consistent damage it does, it can hardly be called a drawback. Thus, thanks to its insane damage and survivability, you’ll see the Havoc Demon Hunter filling the 1st slot for DPS in almost every Mythic+ group.

Outlaw Rogue And Subtlety Rogue

It’s a little surprising that S-tier has not one but two Rogues: the Outlaw and Subtlety. While both of these specs encompass the same excellent utility and defensive abilities, the overall competitive damage they deal takes the spotlight.

That said, both deal different types of damage, with the Outlaw Rogue relying on target-capped AOE damage, while the Subtlety Rogue has substantial burst damage, which the Outlaw lacks. When both the Rogues are compared, the Outlaw can be ranked a tier higher than the Subtlety Rogue since it always has damage on it. In contrast, the Subtlety Rogue’s burst is more Cooldown-oriented.

Windwalker Monk

The Windwalker Monk is the reigning champ when it comes to durability. Thanks to its fantastic kit, you may even call it a walking tank. While most Classes are content with two defensive abilities, the Windwalker Monk has four that bring in ridiculous damage reduction. On top of that, the Class can also absorb and redirect up to 70% of the damage to enemies, thanks to its Touch of Karma ability.

This spec even has some serious AOE damage, which makes difficult trash packs look pretty easy for Mythic+ runs. Not only is it relatively easy to master, but the Windwalker Monk’s damage output shouldn’t be taken lightly. Although this spec’s damage does fall short of Havoc’s and Outlaw’s, you’ll still find it in the top 5 contenders for DPS in Mythic+ Dungeons.

Feral Druid

Thanks to the rework they did for Dragonflight, you’ll likely start seeing Feral Druids in Mythic+. The fact that they can deal a lot of AOE damage propels them to the A tier. Their damage output is insanely high, so you may occasionally see them competing with Havoc Demon Hunters at the top of the DPS charts.

Besides that, Feral Druids bring excellent utility in the form of buffs, heals, and resurrections. However, there’s only one downside to Feral Druids, which is their lack of defensive abilities; if not for that, this Class would’ve easily made it to the S tier.

Shadow Priest

The Shadow Priest brings something other than damage to the table. That is its excellent utility and survivability, thanks to its kit. You have both healing and defensive buttons like Vampiric Embrace and Dispersion that bring in healing and damage reduction into your kit.

While the Shadow Priest lacks raw damage output compared to other specs, its useful utility and durability warrant this Class’s spot in the A tier. There’s also Power Infusion for the Shadow Priest, strengthening its spot in the A tier.

Fury Warrior

This is the best version of the Fury Warrior that players have seen so far. Dragonflight’s Fury Warrior dishes out incredible AOE burst damage and has exceptional lifesteal abilities and a few defensive abilities as well. However, this Class’s burst potential is heavily held back by long cooldowns and doesn’t perform as well as the other S- and A-tier specs in terms of damage.
