Method #1: Doing Dungeons and Mobs

Yes, this might be the most obvious way of leveling up an alt, but hear us out. One new addition to Dragonflight is a feature that makes it so that as long as you complete the main campaign with your main account, you’ll be able to go to any of the four dragon islands with your alt, and all main plus side quests will already be unlocked.

Because of this, you can join a group of friends who have high leveled characters in order to go through dungeons that will give you some major experience for your troubles. 

The most recommended places of grinding for experience when you hit the level 60 range are

• Elite mobs in Revendreth Dominance
• Malldraxus House of the Chosen

Method #2: Collecting Dragon Glyphs

If you’ve completed the Dragonflight campaign already, then you’ll know about the inclusion of dragon riding in this expansion. Well, if you want to unlock more talents, then you’ll have to collect what are called dragon glyphs that are scattered all around the world.

It is recommended that the first time you go through the main campaign with your main character, you ensure that you collect all of these glyphs. This is because the glyphs carry over to your alts as well.

All you have to do when you create your alt is unlock all the talents, and you’ll be able to fly across the Dragon Islands with speed instead of having to walk around slowly. Trust us, this will make the process of leveling up your alt MUCH quicker.

Method #3: Toggling War Mode

Although not a new mode at all, enabling war mode is something that we recommend you do as soon as you hit level 20 with your alt. The toggle for War Mode appears at the bottom right of the talents interface after a character reaches level 20, but you should keep in mind that it can only be activated while in Stormwind or Orgrimmar.

Now, you might be wondering why you should toggle war mode on. Well, with war mode enabled, players get a bunch of bonuses applied to their characters. The most important one for this guide, however, is the 10% bonus to experience from killing mobs and completing quests.

Because of this huge percentage boost in total exp earned doing tasks that you would have done anyways, we recommend you toggle this on as soon as you can to benefit from it more.

Method #4: First Craft Bonus

One of the best addition to Dragonflight for players looking to level up their alts quicker is the first time bonus experience players get for crafting something they haven’t ever crafted with that character before. This means that you can, in theory, level up around three times in ten minutes just by clicking some stuff in the menus.

As a matter of fact, the first player to hit Dragonflight’s level 70 cap did so by crafting as many things as he could, despite the fact that he didn’t equip more than half of them even once the entire time he played.

However, this first craft bonus exp has already been nerfed once, as it used to cap at around 700k experience, but has been reduced to around 350%.

Method #5: Quests

Of course, the argument of whether quests or dungeons are better for leveling alts has been one that’s been going on since the beginning of time (or at least since the beginning of the game), but it seems that quests are the way to go if you’re looking to level your alt up quickly in Dragonflight.

To be more specific, we recommend you finish out Waking Shores and Ohn’ahran Plans first, as they’re less spread out and don’t require you to do additional unlocking activities too much, while quest lines in Azure Span and Thaldraszus do.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you won’t be coming across unlocks at all in these two locations, but the number of quests having them will be significantly lesser.

Method #6: Gathering Professions

Unlike crafting professions, gathering professions don’t give you any first time gathering bonuses when it comes to gathering herbs or mining ores. However, you do get 2,300 exp per herb or mine, which means you’ll need to herb or mine 5 times to get the same experience as one first time craft bonus.

Here’s the thing though. This gathering profession exclusive experience method doesn’t have any experience cap to it, making it much better in the long run when compared to the nerfed first time craft bonus experience.

Method #7: Bonus Objectives

Bonus objectives can be very useful for leveling up alt accounts quicker, especially if some of those bonus objectives include killing rare mobs (which technically counts as bonus objectives). This is because rare mobs, in addition to dropping some good loot, also reward you with some decent experience. After all, every little bit counts.
