There are a number of different methods for blocking shots in UFC 5, with each method dependent on the type of strike your opponent is throwing.

It is worth knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent too, as that can help you gauge which area of your body they will be looking to target.

Block Head

  • PlayStation: Hold R2 to block your head
  • Xbox: Hold RT to block your head

Block Body

  • PlayStation: Hold L2 & R2 to block your body.
  • Xbox: Hold LT & RT to block your body.

Block Legs

  • PlayStation: Hold L2 & R2 whilst an opponent is attempting a leg kick.
  • Xbox: Hold LT & RT whilst an opponent is attempting a leg kick.

Blocking leg kicks is known as checking. Checking a leg kick will cause damage to the fighter who attempted the kick.
