If you are looking to find out who the EA Sports UFC 5 cover athlete is, you are in the right place. EA has revealed the cover star and key art for this year’s game, with three of the best fighters around fronting the upcoming game.
The official UFC 5 release date is yet to be confirmed. However, we anticipate this being announced this September ahead of a launch date later in 2023. In the meantime, EA has begun its reveals for the game, with the new cover art looking epic.
Find out who the UFC 5 cover athletes are below.
UFC 5 cover stars – Standard Edition
There will be two fighters on the cover of the UFC 5 Standard Edition. Australian UFC featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski and former UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko.
Volkanovski missed out on becoming a two-weight UFC Champion earlier this year. In front of his home crowd, Volkanovski was on the wrong end of a unanimous decision, losing out to the current UFC Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev.
Valentina Shevchenko also lost a title fight in 2023. Shevchenko lost her UFC Women’s Flyweight title after succumbing to a submission loss to Alexa Grasso.
UFC cover star – Deluxe Edition
The cover athlete for this year’s UFC 5 Deluxe Edition is Israel Adesanya. The current UFC Middleweight Champion, known as ‘The Last Stylebender’ will be a popular choice among MMA fans.
Adesanya also bucks the trend of this year’s cover athletes losing title fights in 2023. The Kiwi exacted his revenge on Alex Pereira, regaining his UFC Middleweight title at UFC 287 with a devastating show of striking.
While Adesanya will be a popular choice among fans, the likes of Jorge Masvidal, Conor McGregor, and Ronda Rousey are all familiar faces within the UFC franchise. Any of them could have been hugely popular as this year’s cover athletes.
