Tears of the Secret Springs walkthrough

First things first, you’ll need to have completed the Tulin of Rito Village quest that forms a part of the main TotK storyline. This involves partnering up with Tulin and taking down the Tears of the Kingdom Colgera that was causing the blizzard that ravaged the Hebra region. Once you’ve completed this head to Rito Village and chat with Tulin to receive the quest.

He’ll give you a riddle, mentioning a hidden treasure located between three secret hot springs in the mountains. By guiding the water from each hot spring to a particular location, it will ‘awaken’ the slumbering treasure. Before you head off to find the treasure, make sure you’ve got some items to light a fire, such as wood and flint, fire fruit, or a Flame Emitter Zonai Device.

Head out to the northwest area of the Hebra region to a place called Biron Snowshelf. We’ve got a picture of the location to make it easier to locate. If you’ve completed the Eutoum Shrine to the north, teleport there and head southwest. Otherwise, north-northwest from the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower.

Here, you’ll find a cave that’s entrance is blocked by a large block of ice. Using whatever method you see fit, melt the block of use with your fire until it’s small enough to access the North Biron Snowshelf Cave behind it. Follow the path through, collecting some bomb flowers, and use one at the end of the tunnel to break some rocks on the ground. Jump through the hole and you’ll be in a large chamber with an updraft in the middle.

Look around the walls and you’ll see multiple sets of breakable rocks high up in the chamber. Use the updraft to fly up with your paraglider, and use Tears of the Kingdom Fuse ability to make some bomb arrows using the bomb flowers you picked up earlier. Break each set of rocks until you find the three that release the spring water into the chamber. Once all three springs are released, a large stone statue will move, opening a path for you to follow.

Head down this path and you’ll find a stone chest with your reward at the end of it. Open it up to receive the Vah Medoh Divine Helm. It is a helmet styled after the Divine Beast Vah Medoh from Breath of the Wild, and confers two armour points and the cold resistance buff.

That’s the Tears of the Kingdom Treasure of the Secret Springs quest complete. Hopefully your new headwear will be put to good use while hunting for any Tears of the Kingdom Shrines in the snowy Hebra region. And if you’re looking to upgrade some of your other armour, you should have a look at our Tears of the Kingdom Great Fairy locations to do just that.

What does the Vah Medoh Divine Helm do?

The Vah Medoh Divine Helm provides 2 armour, and the Cold Resistance buff. It also powers up the Sage of Wind while you have the helm equipped.

Where is the North Biron Snowshelf Cave located?

The North Biron Snowshelf Cave is located directly south of the Hebra North Peak, and is initially blocked by a large block of ice, which must be melted before you can enter.
