Wondering how to get more stamina in Tears of the Kingdom? Stamina is one of the most important features of The Legend of Zelda TotK. Whether you’re running, climbing, fighting, or swimming, you want as much stamina as you can get your hands on. That’s why it’s so important to know how to increase your stamina.

For when there’s no Tears of the Kingdom vehicles to travel with, and you can’t use your Tears of the Kingdom Ascend ability to climb to high places, you need to know how to increase your stamina in Tears of the Kingdom so you can do all that and more.

How do you increase your stamina in Tears of the Kingdom?

The only way to increase your stamina in Tears of the Kingdom is by obtaining Stamina Vessels. Stamina Vessels are rare items which increase the size of Link’s stamina wheel.

There is only one way to obtain Stamina Vessels in TotK, which is by visiting Goddess Statues. Goddess Statues are located in, or around major towns and cities, such as Hateno Village, the Emergency Shelter at the center of Lookout Landing, or Gerudo Town, as well as a larger one in the Temple of Time on the Great Plateau. You can visit any of these statues to purchase Stamina Vessels using Lights of Blessing much like in Breath of the Wild.

Lights of Blessing are special items obtained from completing any of the many Shrines present across Hyrule. Every time you complete a Shrine, you are rewarded with one Light of Blessing. After acquiring four Lights of Blessing, you can return to a Goddess Statue, and trade these lights for a stamina upgrade in the shape of a Stamina Vessel or a health upgrade in the shape of a Heart Container to increase Link’s maximum hearts and, therefore, maximum health.

You can also temporarily increase stamina by consuming certain meals or elixirs. These can provide a small boost to Link’s stamina wheel, or restore part of, or all of Link’s stamina wheel. While this can be a good option in a pinch, permanent upgrades are naturally the preferred option.

Upgrading your stamina wheel is important for plenty of things. Not only does it let you sprint and climb, it’s also used for charged attacks, paragliding, swimming, and even using your bow in the air. These are all things you’ll be using often, meaning it’s important not to neglect upgrading your stamina as you progress through the game.
