Wondering if you can repair weapons and armour in Tears of the Kingdom? The controversial weapon degradation mechanic from Breath of the Wild is making a return in The Legend of Zelda TotK, and you’ll want to know if you can repair your weapons to stop them breaking.

If you find yourself breaking too many weapons fighting against the many Tears of the Kingdom enemies you come across, you need to know if you can repair them so you won’t be stuck relying on your Tears of the Kingdom abilities.

Are weapons and armour repairable in Tears of the Kingdom?

Weapons and armour are not repairable in Tears of the Kingdom. There is a silver lining to this, which is that armour does not degrade. This means that there is no need to repair armour in TotK, and once you find a particular piece of armour, it’s yours to keep permanently.

Sadly, the same can’t be said for weapons. Just like in BotW, weapons will degrade with every hit, eventually breaking completely. In the early-game, most of the weapons you find will be relatively weak, and will break quickly. This makes it a good idea to pick up any and all weapons you find, so that you won’t end up having to run away from enemies when your last weapon breaks.

This changes somewhat in the late-game, as the weapons you find have a much higher durability, with the chance to find weapons with a special trait that increases durability further. Since your weapons will last longer, you can be much more picky about what items you pick up.

While you might find it annoying when your weapons break, Tears of the Kingdom is full to the brim with weapons to pick up, so even in the early-game, you probably won’t be struggling to find new ones. Many enemies carry weapons that you can pick up after defeating them, while you can also find them in chests, shrines, and some hidden areas.
