With the new Pokemon Scarlet And Violet out for some time now, everyone’s already deep into the game, with some people completing the main storyline countless times. However, even if you finished the campaign, that isn’t all there is to the game, as there are a few more Pokemons available even after completing the main storyline!

To get these elusive Pokemon, we need to capture different colored shrines, with each color associated with its specific Shrine. If you’re interested in the Icerend Shrine along with the yellow-colored shrine’s location, you’re in the right place. Without any further ado, let’s dive right in!

What Is The Yellow Shrine
The Icerend Shrine glows a bright yellow color, and once you have acquired all 8 of these stakes, only then you’ll be able to fight and capture the Chien-Pao Pokemon. Before being able to use the Yellow Icerend Shrine, there are a couple of steps we need to cover, which we’ll be discussing in this guide.

If you want to know the history behind these Shrines, take a couple of history lessons from the academy, although this is not a requirement of the quest. We’ll identify the Shrines’ locations now, so make sure you don’t skip anything!
Where To Find All The Yellow Stakes
Locating all the Stakes is the biggest challenge you will encounter. We recommend following along with your own Nintendo Switch, so you don’t skip a step. The Yellow Shrine is located near the West Paldean Sea and to the southwest of the Asado Desert. The exact location of the Yellow Shrine and all 8 Stake are as follows:

Yellow Stake 1 Location
The first yellow Stake is located in South Province (Area Six) northeast of Alfornada. There’s a piece of green land amongst the hills, and the Stake should be there. You’ll need to head over to the north of a peculiar lake with a landform in the middle.

Yellow Stake 2 Location
The second yellow Stake is located in the West Province (Area One) near the West Paldean Sea. A Pokemon Center lies to the northwest of this Stake which means that if you find yourself at the Center, you can just make your way southeast of it. However, wear your trekking shoes since you might need to glide or climb before being able to reach this Stake.

Yellow Stake 3 Location
The next Yellow Stake lies close to the second Yellow Stake in the way that they’re located in the same province and even in the same vicinity, sharing the same landmark of a Pokemon Center in the province. This Stake can be found west of the Pokemon Center in the West Province (Area One), right in the middle of a land formation that looks like a Poke Ball.

Yellow Stake 4 Location
This Stake is also found in the West Province (Area One); however, this one is close to the center of the map, unlike the previously mentioned Yellow Stakes, which are near the sea. The fourth Yellow Stake is located southeast of the Asado Desert and southwest of Cascaraffa. To track it down, you need to search for a nearby ruin. The closest landmark we can find is the Pokemon Center, south of the Asado Desert.

Yellow Stake 5 Location
The next Yellow Stake is located in the South Province (Area Two). This one lies just beside The Great Crater of Paldea, to the south of Cascaraffa. You need to go to the base of the mountain, and within a small crevice, you’ll be able to spot the Stake.

Yellow Stake 6 Location
The sixth Yellow Stake can be spotted just outside Cascaraffa. This one will be cheekily hiding behind a tree that is standing tall near a river. This river is easy to identify since it’s the one flowing out of Cascarrafa.

Yellow Stake 7 Location
The seventh yellow Stake is located to the east of Alfornada in the South Province (Area Six). The Stake will be resting atop a plateau near a waterfall, so bring an umbrella if you can!

Yellow Stake 8 Location
The final Yellow Stake is hidden deep inside a cave to the north of Alfornada and to the west of Cortondo. You’ll find this cave near the West Paldean Sea, more specifically, to the east of the Paldean beach. You should see the Stake as soon as you enter the narrow cave.

How To Find and Open the Yellow Shrine
Once you’ve conquered the quest of finding all 8 Yellow Stakes, now you must locate and use the Icerend Shrine. The exact location and path to get to the shrine are as follows:
Where Is The Icerend Shrine Located
The Icerend Shrine is located in the Western Province, also known as Area One of Paldea in Pokemon Scarlet And Violet. The exact location is slightly west of where you’ll fight the Open Sky Titan.
If you complete history lessons at the academy, the precise location of the Icerend Shrine will be added to the overworld map, making it easier to travel to it.

The quickest way to the Icerend Shrine is to get to the Pokemon Centre in the Western Province and walk due north towards the Open Sky Titan’s mountain. Once you reach the mountain itself, walk on the path till it turns brown, and then shift to the path on the left side. At the end of the path, there will be a ledge behind a trainer; jump off that, and you’ll be at the Shrine.
How To Open The Yellow Shrine
Once you’re at the location and have dropped down the cliff, you’ll see a large circular yellow shrine. Walk up to that shrine and interact with it. Once you do that, you’ll witness some cool animations play out after the Chien-Pao Pokemon appears.

Final Thoughts
Even after you finish the main storyline, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet provide you with the opportunity to capture 4 additional legendary Pokemon and add them to your collection. With that said, in your hunt for each legendary Pokemon, you will have to get 8 Stakes which is a time-consuming quest, but we’d say worth it every bit, and even fun to play.
