The one we’ll be talking about today is the Egg Power 3 sandwich, which is the highest egg power sandwich you can make in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Remember, with the Pokemon Teal Mask release date now here, there’s never been a better time to jump into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

What does the Egg Power 3 sandwich do?

The Egg Power 3 sandwich, just like the other sandwiches you use in the game, is made and eaten after setting up a picnic in the region of Paldea. After selecting the ingredients and making the sandwich, your Pokemon will get buffed.

This buff will make it so that every time you breed your Pokemon, the egg basket where the eggs spawn will always be full, containing 10 eggs. Additionally, it will also decrease the time you have to wait for them to spawn.

The reason you have to use the picnic system in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is that the daycare isn’t present in the game. As such, you’ll need to manually select two Pokemon in the same egg group and have them breed. The good thing about this is that a picnic can be set up anywhere in the region.

Egg Power 3 sandwich recipes

Although there are multiple recipes and ingredients you can use to make an Egg Power 3 sandwich, the one thing all the recipes have in common is that they all use two types of Herba Mystica, which means every time you make one you’re setting yourself back by a lot.

Some of the many recipes that will give you Egg Power 3 sandwiches are

  • Red Onion + Salty Herba Mystica + Sweet Herba Mystica
  • Lettuce + Salty Herba Mystica + Sweet Herba Mystica
  • Tofu + Sweet Herba Mystica + Bitter Herba Mystica
  • Sweet Herba Mystica + Sweet Herba Mystica + Basil
  • Sweet Herba Mystica + Bitter Herba Mystica + Proscuitto

  • Bitter Herba Mystica + Sweet Herba Mystica + Onion

How to make an Egg Power 3 sandwich

Once you’ve collected the necessary ingredients, go out into the wild, and look for a good place to set up your picnic. When you believe you’ve found it, pull up your X menu and select the picnic option.

As soon as the picnic table pops up and you toss out the Pokemon you want to breed, go to the side of the table that’s opposite where the egg basket is and interact with the picnic basket on the table.

Select the ‘make a sandwich’ option, and either choose the recipe if you have it or press ‘X’ to go to creative mode and manually select the ingredients required to make one of the many egg power 3 recipes. Finally, you’ll have to play a short minigame where you’ll have to assemble the sandwich after which your character and Pokemon will eat it, giving you the Egg Power 3 buff.

One very important thing to remember is that when assembling the sandwich, ensure none of the ingredients fall off, or else you might end up getting a different buff than the one you’re building the sandwich for. Additionally, you aren’t able to eat multiple sandwiches to stack the effect. All that will happen is that the timer for the buff will reset.

Although the Egg Power 3 buff is extremely useful if you’re looking to save time, many players consider the Egg Power 2 buff to be better, as it doesn’t require Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Herba Mystica. Additionally, the buff from making this sandwich doesn’t increase the chances of you getting a shiny egg either, but luckily our best ways to shiny hunt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet guide will help you out there.
