MW3 Season 1 guide

Casual players might already have an idea of how seasons work in Modern Warfare 3 but if you don’t, then understanding seasons is the first thing you should know. So basically seasons are like mini-campaigns within the larger MW3 experience. They introduce new content, challenges, and rewards, all wrapped around a central theme or storyline.

Season 1 for instance, is wrapped around the popular zombies mode which as we mentioned in our MW2 vs MW3 comparison piece, carries Modern Warfare 3 for the most part, so it’s no surprise the developers are leaning on that. There are lots of new features and wonder weapons in Season 1 that you can use to not only battle the undead but also take down the various sorts of monstrosities in Urzikstan.

Complete the challenges

MW3 Season 1 comes packed with loads of challenges for players to compete and get amazing rewards. However, this won’t be easy, especially in zombies mode which now includes missions that’ll see you utilise the Aether Storm system. In fact, there’s so much new content in the new season that I personally think it has one of the largest (if not the largest) content releases of any previous Call of Duty game.

There are eight different sets of weekly challenges planned throughout Season 1 and each one will be available in Multiplayer, Warzone and Zombies! If you complete any five of these challenges throughout Season 1, you’ll unlock an Aftermath part, a new weapon or an attachment. And if you manage to complete all eight weekly challenges and their rewards, you’ll be given an exclusive weapon camo.

Below are all the challenges you need to complete and the XP reward you’ll get after completing them:

Completing these challenges is a fantastic way to get ahead in Season 1 but as aforesaid, it won’t be easy. You can choose to play zombies mode as you always have without attempting any of the challenges and still amass a decent amount of items (as long as you successfully exfil with them). Below are some basic tips to remember:

Squad Up

Teamwork makes the dream work, especially in Season 1’s intense new zombies modes. So seek out teammates you can rely on, communicate effectively, and utilise each other’s strengths to conquer objectives. New monsters have been added to zombies mode and it’ll be almost impossible for one player to face them alone and make it out alive. They’re insanely difficult to kill and even with a squad, it’ll take a while.

Embrace the Battle Pass

Call of Duty Black Cell now offers a comprehensive MW3 Season 1 guide to enhance your gaming experience.

Dive into the Battle Pass challenges and reap the rewards. New weapons, operators, and cosmetic items await, enhancing your gameplay experience. And if you’ve got some spare cash to spend on in-game items, we suggest getting the Season 1 BlackCell Battle Pass to get yourself up to a good start.

There’s a lot more on the way in MW3 Season 1 including a release date for Ranked Play. So, grab a weapon, squad up, and make good use of the early stages of Season 1 before Season 1 Reloaded gets underway with more challenges and content.
