Activision is set to release another season for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. This is a really exciting update for the CoD community as it is set to introduce Ranked Play to MW3. Some are asking when does Ranked Play come out, and here is the exact release date and start time countdown for MW3 Season 1 Reloaded in PT, ET, and UK GMT.
As mentioned, there are lots of aspects to anticipate about the upcoming update. Ranked Play is coming out with rewards to earn and unlock, and there are new Operator bundles featuring The Boys from the hit Amazon series. Not only all of this, but there is also a significant list of new weapons being introduced to the battlefield.
The release date and start time has been confirmed by Activision, and the MW3 Season 1 Reloaded countdown is just hours away from the finish line.
MW3 Season 1 Reloaded release date
MW3 Season 1 Reloaded is currently underway from January 17th, 2024 until it concludes at a later date. This was confirmed by Activision in their blog post. This is also the same release date for when Ranked Play will come out in Modern Warfare 3 as it is a day one launch rather than mid-season.

The release date and start time for when MW3 Season 1 Reloaded will is 9 AM PT/12 PM ET/ 5 PM GMT on January 17th. Again, this comes courtesy of an official countdown shared by Activision.
You can preload the update in advance. This will allow you to begin playing all of the new content as soon as it launches.

MW3 Ranked play release time
The release time for MW3 Ranked play is 9 AM PT/ 12 PM ET/ 5 PM GMT on January 17th. It applies to the following modes:
- CDL Search & Destroy: No respawning; 1.5-minute round timer; Friendly Fire enabled. Supported maps include Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Skidrow, and Terminal.
- CDL Hardpoint: 5-minute time limit; 250 score limit; 60-second objective rotation; Friendly Fire enabled. Supported maps include Invasion, Karachi, Skidrow, Sub Base, and Terminal.
- CDL Control: 30 lives per team; 1.5-minute time limit; 3-round win limit; Friendly Fire enabled. Supported maps include Highrise, Invasion, and Karachi.
Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play ranks and skill divisions
Ranks represent your Ranked Career and each level 55 player will start at Rank 1. Winning matches and earning stars will let you rank up and your rank is, “Permanent and persists across seasons.” As for Skill Divisions, Activision says that players will start from Bronze I and work their way through 8 Skill Divisions and Tiers by earning SR (Skill Rating). “SR is awarded when you win based on personal and team performance. In subsequent seasons, you will be dropped back three Tiers. The highest Skill Division you can start a new season in is Diamond I.”
The developers also described Ranked Play as, “A feature-packed, stand-alone competitive multiplayer mode that leverages the Call of Duty League approved rules, restrictions, maps, and modes.” You can track your standing with a “visible skill rating” and earn rewards across multiple Skill Divisions and Tiers.
If you deliver an excellent performance, you’ll be featured in the Top 250 Leaderboard and Division for the opportunity to prove yourself as the No.1 player.
New weapons in Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded update
As aforesaid, there will be new weapons and operators in Season 1 Reloaded update. The new weapons in the Season 1 reloaded update are the HRM-9 SMG and TAQ Evolvere LMG. There’s a good chance we’ll see more weapons added along the way but with Season 2 around the corner, the developers will save some for a new season.
New game modes in Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded update
There will also be new game modes such as Infected, Headquarters and Team Gunfight. In Infected, one random player will spawn as an infected and attempt to eliminate non-infected players who will have default loadout options to defend themselves. Headquarters, on the other hand, will require you to hold and secure a particular position for as long as you can with respawns disabled. Team Gunfight is a 6v6 version of Gunfight but with the game’s standard Multiplayer maps.
New maps in Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded update
There’s only one new map being introduced in the Season 1 reloaded update named Rio De Janeiro. This is a relatively small 6v6 map that’ll take players deep into the heart of Brazil, pitting teams against themselves for the better team to emerge victorious.
New zombies content in MW3 Season 1 Reloaded update
The new update comes with new and challenging zombies missions and modes such as the new South Korean–born Warlord named Dokkaebi. The character is described as, “A deep understanding of electronic warfare with access to a fleet of self-programmed autonomous drones ready to attack Operator Deadbolt Operatives on sight.”
Dokkaebi is also a, “Key lieutenant within Terminus Outcomes,” and you can find her fortress at the top of a skyscraper in Zaravan City. If you choose to take her on, be careful as she won’t be an easy target.
MW3 Season 1 Reloaded end date
With Season 2 speculated to commence in late February 2024, Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded will end in mid-February to pave the way for Season 2. Currently, there’s an in-game timer that counts down the remaining days left in Season 1, so for now it’s the best way of determining when Season 1 Reloaded will conclude.
