Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 release date rumors are starting to pop up now that we’re well into the third chapter of Activision’s latest FPS installment. Based on the details that have been revealed so far, it seems that we’ll only need to wait a few more days until we get to experience the new features that are being brought in as part of the next update.

Some of the exciting additions that will be arriving with the Season 4 patch include a new Warzone 2 map that should excite the battle royale’s dwindling player base. Sadly, new weapons haven’t been revealed by the developers yet, which means you will still have to stick with your best Cronen Squall loadout and best ISO Hemlock loadout for the time being.

But now that we’ve given you a preview of what you can expect soon, we suggest checking out some of the upcoming changes below so you know what to expect once it drops.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 release date

The Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 release date will reportedly be on June 14, 2023, which is exactly nine weeks after the third season began. With this in mind, the fourth chapter’s slightly delayed launch window comes as a bit of a surprise since Call of Duty seasons usually last for a total of eight weeks only.

It’s important to keep in mind, though, that this will be the first full season of Warzone 2 Ranked play so the developers may have been busy trying to deliver certain improvements to the competitive battle royale offering. There will also apparently be a new Warzone 2 map introduced with this update, which could explain the late start to the upcoming chapter.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 maps

According to a post from reliable CoD news aggregator CharlieIntel, Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 will apparently be introducing a new Warzone 2 map called Vondel, which will be set in the Netherlands. The new location has also reportedly been developed by Beenox, who previously worked on the first Warzone game.

It’s worth noting, though, that Vondel will only be available through Resurgence at the beginning of the season, but it will apparently be introduced to Warzone 2 and DMZ eventually. Once it’s been fully integrated into Warzone 2, this would be the battle royale’s first time having two maps in the rotation.

Unfortunately, these are the only details that have been revealed at the time of writing since the rumored release date is still a couple of weeks away. However, we will continue to update this page with the latest information as soon as it’s been revealed so we can keep you in the loop with Season 4 news.
