Want to know how to defeat the boss in the MW2 and Warzone Diablo 4 crossover event? You’ve come to the right place. Call of Duty and Diablo 4 are already bessie mates – given they come from the same publisher. But now Diablo 4 players can earn themselves a cool treat by playing the MW2 and Warzone Haunting event.

The Haunting – Call of Duty’s annual Halloween extravaganza – already has a few nods to its stablemate thanks to the MW2 and Warzone Diablo 4 Operators, cosmetics and other weapons in the shooter. But now it’s offering those who play the RPG their own reward, and all they have to do to earn it is to take part in the event to nab themselves a shiny The Butcher’s Meat Hook – the signature weapon of the most feared boss in Sanctuary. If you want to know specifically how to nab this gift, read on.

How to earn the MW2 and Warzone The Haunting Diablo 4 Operation Nightmare rewards

  • First, you’ll want to link your Battle.net account to your Activision account – you can do this over on the Account section of the Call of Duty website.
  • Then, in Call of Duty Warzone – you need to play some games on Al Mazrah or the Vondead Maps and take part in Operation Nightmare.
  • The reward will then be sent to your Battle.net account – but it may take up to 4 days to arrive.

If you’ve not linked your accounts before you defeat him, don’t worry; you can also do it afterwards instead, and you’ll be granted the Transmog. Be aware that you must have a Scythe equipped to be able to use the Butcher’s Meat Hook.

How to complete Operation Nightmare in MW2 and Warzone The Haunting

In Warzone, check the Operation Nightmare tab – in game on Warzone, check your Tac Map, and you should see some areas highlighted for you to investigate where the portals will appear. Defeat the monsters and The Butcher (note, the Butcher can be found in both Al Mazrah and Vondel – but only in the Night versions of the map) – and you’ll unlock the following rewards in the MW2 and Warzone Diablo 4 crossover event:

  • A unique Calling Card for use in MW2 and Warzone
  • The Butcher’s Meat Hook – a one-handed scythe cosmetic for Diablo 4

Finally, killing five out of the six monsters in the portal unlocks the following reward:

  • Bloody Mess Mastery Weapon Blueprint

A prompt will appear on screen when you have successfully defeated The Butcher, so it should be obvious that you’ve done it. Below is how to defeat the remaining monsters in the MW2 and Warzone Diablo 4 crossover event:

How to defeat the Swamp Creature in The Haunting

A screenshot of the haunting map in Call of Duty featuring a riveting MW2 Warzone crossover.

The swamp creature resides in the Mawizeh Marshlands of Al Mazrah, as indicated on your tac-map. The mission instructs you to find three egg pods within the swamp to locate the Tiara required to summon the creature. However, it’s worth noting that the creature can be summoned simply by opening the pods, and the Tiara typically drops after defeating the boss.

To expedite the process, I recommend focusing on opening the pods since there are more than just three. These pods also contain valuable loot, and once you obtain the Tiara item, it can be sold or extracted for $100,000. Defeating the creature will also reward you with the Swamp Creature calling card.

So to beat the Swamp creature, it’s best to face the monster with a squad to increase your chances of victory. Fortunately, the damage they inflict is minimal, and it appears that they are deterred by waist-deep water. Make sure to leverage the environment to your advantage while battling these troublesome green creatures.

How to defeat The Pharoah in The Haunting

A screenshot of a map showing the location of the haunting in an MW2 Warzone and Diablo 4 crossover.

The Pharaoh can be found on Al Mazrah, specifically in the Oasis point of interest. To confront the Pharaoh, your objective is to acquire skulls by eliminating possessed enemies that materialize in the desert ruins. Once obtained, place these skulls into the sarcophagus to awaken and ultimately defeat the Pharaoh.

At first, it might appear that you only require five skulls, but an additional five can be found on the rear side of the sarcophagus. So you’ll need 10 skulls to initiate the boss fight, and it’s essential to brace yourself for a challenging battle. This is because not only will possessed enemies materialize all around you, but the Pharaoh is remarkably swift and will relentlessly pursue you through the ruins.

This enemy is highly resilient and can eliminate you if he catches up. Like other bosses, it’s advisable to tackle this with a team, and it’s crucial to maintain constant movement throughout your fight with the boss. Defeating The Pharaoh will reward you with the The Pharaoh calling card.

How to defeat The UFO in The Haunting

A screenshot of the haunting map in the MW2 Warzone Diablo 4 crossover.

The UFO can be found in Sawah Village within Al Mazrah. Your mission is to eliminate the anomalies, blue glowing orbs that hover around and fire lasers at you. It’s important to note that these anomalies can be highly lethal if you’re not adequately protected. So you have to eliminate them to trigger the appearance of the UFO and subsequently destroy it as well.

Once defeated, it will drop various loot for you including an artifact that you must deliver to the portal that appears above the ship at your location. While the UFO isn’t as tough as the above bosses, it’ll take a while and lots of ammo to put it down. Defeating this boss will unlock the UFO calling card.

How to defeat Evil Spirits in The Haunting

A haunting location map featuring a thrilling MW2 Warzone and Diablo 4 crossover experience.

The Evil Spirits challenge involves multi processes where your goal is to find eerie encounters by inspecting supply boxes at different locations. These supply boxes are randomly scattered throughout the specified areas mentioned below, so pay a visit to each location and commence your exploration by opening loot containers.

  • Locate a reaper by searching for loot in containers at Al-Safwa Quarry.
  • Track down a ghoul by inspecting containers in Al Mazrah City.
  • Discover a specter by examining containers in Al Bagra Fortress.
  • Reveal a witch by scavenging containers in Al Malik Airport.

Once you’ve completed these tasks, you will earn the Evil Spirits calling card as your reward.

How to defeat Ghost Train in The Haunting

A hauntingly unique map showcasing the intriguing fusion of MW2 and Warzone in a spine-chilling Diablo 4 crossover setting.

Al Mazrah’s train has undergone a nightmarish transformation, turning into the eerie Ghost Train. Your mission is to board the train and retrieve a heart item. Be sure to have a full set of armor plates before embarking on this task. Also, the train cars are rigged with explosives, including proximity mines and claymores, making it easy to get killed by an explosive.

You’ll need to move through the traps. To mitigate the risk, consider deploying semtex or C4 into the train cars ahead of you to disarm some explosives. As you approach the final path, be prepared to disable two sentry guns.

Upon reaching the front of the train, you’ll discover numerous loot boxes. Be sure to unlock the safe so you can claim a large amount of cash and a UAV. Above the safe, you’ll spot the heart item hanging which you should pick up to complete the mission and earn the Ghost Train calling card.
