What is a Blast Core in LEGO Fortnite?
The Blast Core is an item which is required to create the Metal Smelter in LEGO Fortnite. This is crucial to your progression in the mode, as having a Metal Smelter will allow you to craft more powerful metal equipment, much improving your combat capabilities.
How to get Blast Cores in LEGO Fortnite
Blast Cores can be found in Lava Caves in LEGO Fortnite. Lava Caves are located in desert biomes known as Dry Valley. Once you find a Lava Cave in the desert, you’ll want to head inside and kill mobs called Blasters, which are like the fire version of Rollers. Each Blaster will drop a Blast Core when killed.
Before you head into a Lava Cave, be aware that you will take burning damage inside, similar to the damage you take when you’re too cold. To offset this, you’ll need to bring some items with you that provide heat resistance, such as the Cool-Headed Charm or Snowberry Milkshakes. If you don’t have heat resistance, you’ll die long before you’re able to take down a Blaster.
