To change your skin in LEGO Fortnite, the first thing you need to do is select the LEGO Fortnite mode from the main menu. When you launch into LEGO Fortnite lobby, follow these instructions to change your cosmetics:

  • Choose the ‘Locker’ tab from the main menu.
  • Open the Character tab – which will be opened by default.
  • Click on the first character icon in the grid.
  • Pick a new skin and curate your favourite LEGO cosmetics!

And with that, you will have successfully changed your skin in Fortnite LEGO. Keep in mind that not all skins have a LEGO style for LEGO mode. Most do have their own minifigs, but it’s not comprehensive to every single cosmetic. For example, Doctor Strange has no LEGO version. This gameplay was introduced in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 (alongside Fortnite Festival and Rocket Racing) and it’s likely not going anywhere any time soon.

Lego cosmetics can’t be used in BR

Lego-styled skins in Fortnite can only be selected in the specific Lego game mode. You can’t use them in the normal Battle Royale mode, so bear that in mind if you were hoping to win first place as a tiny Lego person.

The good news is that you can completely customise the Fortnite LEGO skins. Once you’ve chosen a preset, you can change your back bling, your pickaxe, emotes, and accessories. Put simply, you have the same freedom that you have with regular Fortnite Battle Royale cosmetics to express yourself.

Unfortunately, not all of your skins will be available in LEGO Fortnite. While all original Fortnite skins will have their own LEGO counterparts, licensed skins from crossovers do not have their own LEGO skins, like due to Epic Games not having the rights to make them.

Can you change clothes in LEGO Fortnite?

Unfortunate no, you can only change your character skin in LEGO Fortnite. While Wool and Armour can be worn, these have a different purpose. This means that customization fans will have to opt for cosmetics if they want to look a certain way.

So that’s all you need to know about how to change skins in LEGO Fortnite. With that, you can enjoy the new sandbox and survival modes in the utmost style.
