The Terminus Weapons in Granblue Fantasy: Relink are secret weapons, taking up the sixth slot in each character’s list of weapons. These cannot be forged, so you will need to find them elsewhere.
As the ‘ultimate’ weapons of the game, there are some requirements to unlock them which will require jumping through a lot of hoops. Fret not, we know the steps you need to take.
For more Granblue Fantasy: Relink, read our guides covering the best party members and how to finish all Rolan jobs. Now, this is how to unlock Terminus Weapons in Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
How to get Terminus Weapons
Terminus Weapons in GBF Relink are unlocked by beating Proto Bahamut. To fight Proto Bahamut, you need to clear the main story, beat every single Quest Counter mission on Proud Difficulty, and then beat Proto Bahamut. After you beat Proto Bahamut, you have a random chance that a Terminus Weapon will drop.
It should be noted that the weapon dropped is totally random, and the character you’re playing has no bearing on which Terminus Weapon you may receive as a reward. Sadly, this whole thing is random, so you will have to beat Proto Bahamut several times to get everyone’s sixth Terminus Weapon.
What about duplicate weapons?
Thankfully, you cannot recieve a duplicate Terminus Weapon. Due to this, let’s say you have Io’s Terminus Weapon, this weapon will now be removed from the loot pool.
Terminus Weapon drop rate in Granblue Fantasy: Relink
The exact percentage drop chance for Terminus Weapons is thought to be 20%. This number has been datamined by people who have modded the game and extracted files. Suffice it to say you have a very low chance of getting the weapon. You don’t have to look far on the game’s SubReddit or Steam forums to see people have done over 30 clears of the boss and received no weapons.
Luckily, we got our first Terminus Weapon – Ferry’s Etheral Lasher – on our first clear. Mind you, it took me a few tries to get through the DPS check at the end. After coming up with a clear strategy to beat Proto Bahamut, we’ve farmed the quest a few times, roughly getting one Terminus Weapon every five to 10 turns. The reality is, it is RNG, and so this will be different for many.
Getting a higher clear grade doesn’t influence your chances of getting a Terminus Weapon. The weapons are dropped from one of the two gold chests, and so you are entirely at the mercy of the RNG. Sadly, it seems that nothing can increase or decrease your chances, and it really is down to luck.
So far, we’ve obtained the Terminus Weapons for Captain, Katalina, Rackam, Io, Eugen, Rosetta, Charlotta, Ferry, Narmaya, Lancelot, Percival, Siegried, Cagliostro, Yodarha, and Vaseraga. Getting this many has taken an extremely long time to do. Sometimes we didn’t see a drop for about 20 runs, and then we got two back-to-back. The RNG is never kind.

Every Terminus Weapons is jammed with extremely powerful abilities, and these are enhanced the more you Awaken them once you get them to level 150. Importantly, they all come with a damage boost and Damage Cap Increase with the Catastrophe trait, letting you deal more damage, and break the damage cap.
How to unlock The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage Quest
To unlock the Tale of Bahamut’s Rage, you will need to have cleared every quest in Proud difficulty. Proud difficulty is the hardest difficulty rank for the Quest Counter. You can unlock this rank of Quests by reaching the Zegagrande Rank. To do this, you need to clear all the specific quests from Easy and Normal to unlock Hard, Very Hardm and Extreme quests.
Clearing all the quests in the above difficulties will eventually unlock Maniac and Proud mode quests at the Quest Counter. Once again, you will need to slog your way through Maniac and Proud quests to eventually unlock The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage Quest, pitting you against Proto Bahamut.
When you have unlocked The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage, you can repeat it as many times as you like to be in for a chance to get yourself a Terminus Weapon at the end of the quest. With 19 characters in total, you will be farming this quest for a long time if you want all Terminus Weapons.
Best team to be Proto Bahamut
While not perfect in any way, I’ve had great success farming Proto Bahamut for more Terminus Weapons using the following characters: Eugen, Narmaya, Lancelot, and Charlotta.
If you play as Eugen, you can exploit his powerful grenade damage. While in Sniper mode, press Triangle on the PS5 controller to throw a grenade – I usually throw two or three – and then shoot where you threw it. This will cause all of them to explode and deal huge damage. Better yet, while Eugen is in Link Time, his Grenades all explode on impact when thrown this way. This is a passive you must unlock in his Mastery skill tree.
Once we got Ferry’s Terminus Weapon, we invested in her and tried the fight again to play as Ferry to replace Eugen. While not faster, it was possible to beat Proto Bahamut this way without Eugen. Granted, I have two War Elemental Sigils and plenty of Damage Cap Sigils to help with DPS.
How to Awaken Terminus Weapons
Once you’ve gained a Terminus Weapon and raised its level to 150, you can start spending materials to Awaken it. To do this, go to Siero with a level 150 Terminus Weapon and select the one you have. On the right, you will see a list of materials needed.
Each Terminus Weapon can be enhanced 10 times. Once you reach the final rank and fully awaken your Terminus Weapon, it will take on a new name and begin to glow when equipped. Fully Awakening Terminus Weapons will raise the DMG Cap on the weapon to level 5 and give you the unique Trait, Sigil Booster. Sigil Booster raises the trait level of all equipped sigils by one.
