How to finish the jobs Rolan started
To complete the quest asking you to ‘Finish the jobs Rolan started’, you need to clear every special marked quest at the Quest Counter. When you have this task, you will see that the Quest Counter has quests listed there with a special icon that looks like a red diamond with two crossed swords in the middle, to the left of the quest name in the menu.
This icon is shown next to each quest, and so you must clear them to progress. If you keep doing the marked quests, you will eventually earn pages from Rolan’s diary. When you have all eight pages, you will have completed all the jobs Rolan started.
While your main quest log will tell you that there are eight jobs in total, you will be clearing far more than just eight quests. To complete all eight Rolan jobs, you will need to clear every single quest at the Quest Counter that has the special icon next to it. All other quests don’t count towards this, and the more you clear the more you will unlock.
Each difficulty level in Granblue Fantasy: Relink has several quests, but only some of them will have the icon. When you clear a quest, it might unlock another one to beat. This will continue until you finish all eight jobs, which will lead to tougher and more challenging boss battles.
Unlocking Maniac and Proud difficulty
After you beat the General Investigation: Id Quest, you will unlock even more quests in the Extreme difficulty. They are all different flavours of dragon enemies, and you will have to beat all of them to get the final page of Rolan’s diary. Once you’ve done this, you proceed through to the next story fight.
In this fight, you will take control of Bahamut again and have to lay the smackdown on Bahamut Versa. It is fairly straightforward, simply dodge out of the way of attacks and use Reginleiv to interrupt it’s charged attack. When you have completed all the jobs Rolan started, you will officially clear Chapter 0, and rank up to Zegagrande Legend and unlock Maniac and Proud quests at the Counter.
