When it comes to choosing the best party in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you want to consider a few crucial things; namely Skills and Elements. There are tons of characters available in Granblue Fantasy, and with a roster of 18 to choose from, there are a few team comps that work better than others. With that in mind, some characters simply won’t always perform super well due to enemy resistance, and so on.

Eugen, Narmaya, Rackam, Charlotta, Cagliostro, Lancelot, and Zeta are some of the best party members. The best party in Granblue Fantasy: Relink will consider a few things; namely the Skills and kit of each character and the resistance and weakness type of the enemies you are fighting. Due to the elemental weakness system, some of your ‘best’ characters won’t always perform well if they are up against an enemy of the same element or simply lack the enemy’s weakness type. Unless, of course, you have the War Elemental Sigil.

There are no bad characters

Characters in Granblue Fantasy: Relink can all be the best in the game if you spent enough MSP on their skills and give them the best Sigils. This is simply how the game works, so there really is no wrong answer when it comes to making the best party.

With that in mind, some characters do perform better than others of the same element, and a great example of this is Eugen arguably being the strongest Earth element character in the game. In terms of power and damage, he could outperform the likes of Cagliostro and Siegfried, with the right Sigils and weapons.

The best characters in Granblue Fantasy: Relink

Getting into the end-game of Proud mode is no mean feat and you will need plenty of strong characters to help you get through the battles. If you play offline, there are some party members that AI is simply better at controlling than others, which is a good thing to consider.

Best party members for The Final Vision Lucilius boss fight

The newest raid in Granblue Fantasy Relink is testing many, but we’ve found the best, not to mention low-effort, party setup to beat this angelic monster. There are several phases to this fight and his attacks are not well-telegraphed, which is why we highly recommend you play as Lancelot in this fight. You will also need to have the Flight over Fight Sigil paired with Nimble Onslaught.

  • Lancelot (Player controlled)
  • Eugen
  • Charlotta / Narmaya / Percival
  • Rackam / Siegfried / Vane

This party setup carried us through the fight. The AI is extremely good at doing the mechanics of this fight. While they sometimes stumble on the orbs and feathers phase, you can still rely on their dodging to avoid any attacks no matter how low their HP gets.

This is also why we recommend a Lancelot build focusing on the following stats: Uplift, Nimble Onslaught, Improved Dodge, and Untouchable. This build, as you might have already guessed, exploits the dodge and invincibility frames on Lancelot’s dodging attack. With this build, you have a ton of invincibility frames simply by pressing Triangle. You can spam this in Lucilius’ face and very rarely get hit.

Best party members for Proto Bahamut fight

In terms of beating Proto Bahamut in the Tale of Bahamut’s Revenge, we’ve found great success using the following team composition to reliably beat the Primal and blast through the final DPS check:

  • Eugen (Player controlled)
  • Charlotta
  • Lancelot
  • Narmaya

We will caveat this by saying we have two War Elemental Sigils, which help considerably in all fights, alongside Sigils like Glass Canon. This latter Sigil is best given to AI party members since their dodging is about 95% on-point depending on the fight.

Eugen gets a special shoutout as arguably one of the best party members thanks to his Grenades and how you can spam them for disgustingly high damage, especially in Link Time. You can also use the guard button to cancel his animation after throwing a grenade without aiming, resulting in increased DPS.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink best party members based on element

As mentioned, Granblue Fantasy: Relink has an elemental weakness system. With 19 characters, there are several who have the same element, but not all of them will be as strong as others. Lancelot, for example, can fairly easily out-DPS Vane in the Water element.

Bear in mind that you can make any character stronger simply by investing in them, so feel free to pick and play as whoever you like the most. These are our picks for the best party members from each element.

The best characters depending on their Element in Granblue Fantasy: Relink

Foes will take more damage from elements they’re weak to, which is shown in-game by an icon next to their HP bar. This is important when you come against strong foes and you don’t deal enough damage. Equally, you should make sure your equipment is always upgraded. If you are lucky enough to obtain the War Elemental Sigil, this will bust your party comps wide open.

Best party in Granblue Fantasy: Relink

If you want a strong party to take on the main content of the game, you have a few picks for the strongest. You can only fit four characters in a party at any time, but you can create Party Loadouts which let you switch between party setups in the menu as you wish. While we advocate for picking the characters you like the look of the most, you can get a ton of mileage out of the following party members:

CharacterElementReason
EugenEarthAs mentioned, Eugen is the real MVP of Granblue. All you really need to do with him is throw a grenade, charge a shot, and blast the enemy away. You can get a skill in Eugen’s Mastery tree that causes all grenades to explode on impact during Link Time, dealing huge chunks of damage.
LancelotWaterLancelot is the ultimate dodge tank in GBF: Relink. He can move around at lightning speed and dodge to keep combos going. With enough invincibility extensions and an Improved Dodge, Lancelot is nigh untouchable. Not to mention, his damage is nothing to sneer at.
NarmayaDarkNarmaya has some of the highest damage attacks in the game, and she can rack up huge combos with the right setup. War Elemental is a must, as are Damage Cap Sigils to help keep her damage high. Stance dancing between her two forms is more optimal, but Freeflutter Stance is better for combos.
CharlottaLightCharlotta, like Lancelot, is able to multi-slash enemies in quick succession. Thanks to this, she can dish out huge numbers in a short period of time if you have the right Sigils. She also has a parry function built into her special. For us, she was invaluable when facing Proto Bahamut.

We think this party setup will help you clear most content in the game, but you should always be mindful of an enemy’s weakness if you are struggling to beat it. If you struggle with a boss fight, make sure you run Potion Hoarder on your player character. Having allies who can take more hits and heal is also preferable, such as Katalina.

Until much later in the game, you can’t remove The Captain from the party, so you will have to make some choices between the other three party slots. This means the best party in Granblue Fantasy: Relink can and will change depending on your foe.

Can’t be a boss? Change it up!

If you want to beat a boss you’re stuck at, you can stack every party member in the group with the boss’s weakness to help you deal more damage. When hitting an enemy with the element it is weak to, you roughly deal double damage with your attacks. Putting a Fire character against a fire-breathing dragon won’t go too well, as you might already have guessed.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink best party members to recruit early

When it comes to unlocking new characters, you should focus on getting the ones you want most. You can use Crewmate Cards to unlock characters. With that said, there are some we can recommend getting as soon as possible to make sure you have a strong team going forward. We recommend the following party members to recruit early:

  • Cagliostro
  • Ferry
  • Lancelot
  • Zeta
  • Narmaya

This will give you a good spread of characters in all the elements in Relink. This means your party will never want for a team that cannot exploit a boss’s elemental weakness.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink best party FAQs

Do you always need an enemy weakness?

No! You can beat any enemy in the game without exploiting their weak element. It will just take a while, since you will do less damage. Unlocking the War Elemental Sigil will help with this.

How many characters are there in Granblue Fantasy: Relink?

There are a total of 20, if you include both Gran and Djeeta. Several are unlocked through Crewmate Cards, while one character is a late-game spoiler.
