The Diablo 4 Season 1 start time countdown is in action right now, with the first season of the game almost here. However, the developers have stated that you’ll need to finish the campaign first and start a new character before you can join the festivities of the first season of Diablo 4.

Naturally, you’ll need to learn how the all new Diablo 4 battle pass works, along with everything about Diablo 4 Capstone Dungeons in order to progress through the story line and beyond quickly. With that said, we’ll also be taking a look at when the game’s opening season on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X begins along with all of the features it contains to get you prepared ahead of its launch.

Diablo 4 Season 1 start date: season details in-game.

Diablo 4 Season 1 start time countdown

The Diablo 4 Season 1 start time is on July 20, 2023, at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST / 3am AEST (July 21). The release date for the first season is therefore more than a month after the game’s full release. As mentioned before, you will need to finish the campaign first “to embark on this next chapter,” so we suggest finishing the initial story as soon as possible.

The developers have noted, however, that the patch for Season of the Malignant will be available starting July 18th so if you want to access all the new features immediately at launch, we suggest pre-installing the patch on the aforementioned date. Additionally, if you want to sync your current progress with the rest of the accounts you have during the new season, you’ll need to log in using the character you’ve advanced through the game the most in order to propagate it through your entire account.

Its arrival will introduce several new elements into the game including “additional gameplay features, seasonal questlines, Battle Passes, new legendary aspects, new malignant powers, Legendary Items, class balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and much more.” Seasons will release quarterly, meaning fans can expect plenty of content to arrive both in the short- and long-term.

Diablo 4 Season 1 end date

Diablo 4 Season 1 will end on October 9, 2023, which means if you’re wondering how long Season 1 is, it comes in at just under three months. The time the first season will end is unconfirmed, however.

Do you need a new character to play Diablo 4 Season 1?

Yes you’ll need to create seasonal characters for the start of the season. Though, if you’ve already completed the campaign with at least one character, you won’t need to replay the campaign and can dive straight into Season 1. Additionally, certain parts of your first playthrough will carry over, including Waypoints, Renown, Altars of Lilith, and map discoveries.

It’s currently unclear, though, what the developers plans are after the game’s opening season concludes. However, it’s safe to say that they have plenty planned in store as this Blizzard live-service game will likely be popular for a long time.
