Is Dead Island 2 on Steam? The biggest gaming store on PC obviously is the first place many people will look for their favorite upcoming and new release games. However, other storefronts have tried cutting into their market recently, including the Epic Games Store.

Here is what you need to know if you are a PC gamer trying to play Dead Island 2. Be sure to check out our guides to the Dead Island 2 map size and Dead Island 2 zombies.

Why is Dead Island 2 not on Steam

If you are looking to play Dead Island 2 on your PC, you will not be able to find it on Steam. The game is an Epic Games Store exclusive for PC, so unless an announcement comes in the future, you won’t find it on Steam.

As of this writing, there is no indication that this is a timed exclusivity window, so Dead Island 2 may never make its way to Steam. If you are in the crowd that absolutely refuses to play anything on the Epic Games Store, you might have to skip out on this or pursue buying it on PlayStation or Xbox.

Epic Games have been ramping up its offers to various games to appear exclusively on its store for a while now. Titles like Saints Row, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and Evil Dead: The Game all are Epic Games Store exclusives, even though the company does not own those properties. It’s a mindset very familiar to PlayStation on the console side, where they lock down exclusivity deals with third parties to get more people to use their platform.

Regardless of the reasoning, Dead Island 2 will not be on Steam for the foreseeable future. Once you’re up and playing, check out our guides to how to open maglocks in Dead Island 2, how to get the Coach’s Car Keys, and how to get more fuses in Dead Island 2 to fix up fuse boxes.
