Is Dead Island 2 multiplayer? The long-awaited sequel has moved from the tropical island of Banoi and invaded California. Many of the aspects you loved in the original game have carried over, including hordes of flesh eating zombies, but this is still a new title, which means some changes.
Among the biggest is the setting, which shifts to an apocalyptic depiction of LA, but Dead Island 2 co-op has seen some changes and Dead Island 2 crossplay is unfortunately not part of the game. Dead Island 2 multiplayer information
Yes, Dead Island 2 has multiplayer functionality. Similarly to the original game, a big focus is slashing through hundreds of zombies you encounter. You can choose to do this either on your own or with up to two allies. While there are six total playable characters, the maximum lobby size is three.
All the campaign missions in Dead Island 2 other than the initial intro portion and tutorial can be played cooperatively. Dead Island 2’s multiplayer isn’t necessarily a core part of the game experience, but it does let you enjoy the journey with a couple of friends instead of just solo. There isn’t any special bonuses you get for playing for friends beside having the extra offensive power to kill enemies.
The first game didn’t include any kind of team-up combo moves and we have seen no evidence of that being introduced here. Just level up your character and use their abilities to mow down anyone who stands in your way.
Dead Island 2 unfortunately does not have crossplay multiplayer, so you will not be able to play with people on other platforms.
