First off, it is specifically designed for publishers not academia. With that in mind they’ve added features like ‘Team Management’ to complement the AI detection.
Because they’re more business oriented it’s not surprising that you do have to pay for this one. Fortunately it’s pretty cheap. Clocking in at $0.01 per 100 words, it’s not too much a of a bank breaker. Of course, that does depend on how much you use the tool, but with it’s combined plagiarism and AI checker we figured it was worth it.
But how effective is it?
Against the AI industry behemoths GPT-3.5 and Chat GPT, Originality.ai claims to have a mean accuracy of 99.65% for the former and 98.65 % for the latter. That’s really quite accurate. They even claim that this high-accuracy detection can run for Email, Google Doc, WordPress, and websites.
